Separate from religion, I think the Pope is a good man. And it's neat to see how loved he is.

If Jesus was the son of God, you'd think God would have given him social media. Jesus: "OMG! Help!"

I'm not Catholic so I basically see the Pope as just another guy with a really good scam.

When the Pope and the Vatican use even a fraction of their overwhelming amount of wealth to lift the poor out of poverty, maybe then they can make suggestions as to what the rest of the world should be contributing.

Soooo....the pope's message is to equalize income so there won't be as many poor. Or we can give money to the poor on our own, but either way there will still be The Poor. Because other people will always find a way to enrich themselves off The Poor. Unless the gov't regulates the process, taking from the rich before they can give to The Poor. And the gov't can then give to The Poor, but not before the people in charge of the gov't enrich themselves. We had a war on poverty started by Lyndon Johnson. It didn't work because it started a new class of The Professional Poor....those who figured out a way to live off the system forever.

Why are people so devoted to the scripture? Like a bunch of ancient parables and stories are somehow related to life today? There's really only one thing we need to do and that is treat others the way we'd like to be treated. All the rest is just fluff. If Jesus can't text and tweet, he's kinda out of touch. Text me, Jesus, to let me know you're real!!!! (but don't drive while you're doing it and don't turn the water in your plastic bottle to wine until you get off the road)

My ex H demonstrated against abortion at clinics and talked against abortion a lot. He is Catholic. But he paid for two abortions for two different friends. He says the babies weren't his. Ever since he told me, I am skeptical about the demonstrators and pro-lifers. Sometimes the people who object the most are the ones who have the most to hide themselves.

My "best friend" in college was one who would attend every pro-life rally, protest in front of planned parenthood, rant about how women who were raped should be forced to give birth, etc. When she ended up getting pregnant at 20, she didn't hesitate to get a secret abortion because her parents would "never approve of a half-black baby." The kicker? After her abortion she continued to attend pro-life rallies and harass women who "killed their babies"!!!!! This is why i think pro-lifer's are scum.

The pope is a false Christ. Read the Bible.

I was just going to post about my annoyance with all the Pope coverage, but someone beat me to it. So I'll post this: Why isn't everyone up in arms about the Pope, leader of a church, coming to the US and preaching every chance he gets - even in our Congress - about how the US should conduct itself? You wouldn't know we had separation of church and state after all this Pope worship. I like the Pope but worship??? No one should worship him. So if a Muslim Imam from a foreign country wants to come here and do the same thing, why shouldn't we let him? There's a precedent being set.
