If we can't even trust trained police officers not to gun down unarmed citizens in the streets, how could we trust teachers?

Looking back on the teachers me and my kids had, I shudder when I think about teachers having guns in the classroom. One principal had mental issues stemming from a war injury in Korea and he was on the edge of nuts all the time. Several were clearly depressed, and several had serious anger issues they took out on the kids, for instance one teacher who dumped a kid out of his desk, threw things at us, and finally decked a kid he didn't like. Who will screen armed teachers for mental health issues? Can't do that without the ACLU screaming about their rights. Time to buy a ranch in Montana and home school your kids.

A guy I'm friends with on fb posted a picture last night of his garage door open and said he came home and it was like that but he felt safe because he had a gun. Then he commented that his teenage daughter had simply left it open on accident but boy was he glad he had his gun. So, you basically could have mistakingly shot your daughter because you were amped up on testosterone and adrenaline. This guy is a dentist who lives in a super affluent neighborhood. The chances of him getting robbed at gunpoint are about zero but whatever. 'Murica.

They're already arresting kids for biting their pop-tarts into gun shapes and building clocks that bear a passing resemblance to a bomb someone saw in a movie. Could you imagine a jumpy teacher given a gun? Rebellious kids, kids perceived as dangerous, would be getting murdered all over the damn place.

Wow...the proposed solution to school shooting issues is to let teachers carry guns? Yeah, that's what's going to help shootings...moar guns. Why not pour napalm on the bushfires while you're at it?

I attend college in Texas. I am so fucking pissed about the CC on our campuses. It's bullshit and I feel more unsafe with these idiots walking around with guns than I did before.

The gun lovers don't want a militia state but yet want us all to be armed. Ready to shoot to kill that person that snaps and wants to shoot up a group of people for mass kill. I'm fine with our Right to Bear Arms, but dammit Jim, I don't want the responsibility of gun ownership and always on alert to maybe have to shoot someone. I don't want to live my life like that. Why can't that be respected by the gun lovers?

What sucks most about teachers being armed, is that the teacher will have to buy his/her own gun and ammo out of their own pocket and probably not even to be able to write it off.

I am a teacher. If the idea that teachers should carry guns ever becomes official, I will quit my job.

The issue with teachers being armed is knowing who the actual shooter is in the middle of all the chaos. In theory, it sounds like a good idea. In reality, it would be even more tragic chaos.
