China is colonizing Africa and providing infrastructure. They import their own labor much of the time. They want Africa's resources. They also want to remove a large part of their population to another continent so as not to have to feed them. China is grabbing offshore Pacific islands to use as bases. When China consolidates all these moves, China will have 2 continents. China will never be a democracy. I guess we should all learn Chinese and look forward to the day when we are all equal under Marxism, i.e., no one has much.

Third World refers to countries that weren't considered a part of the communist bloc or the capitalist bloc. It has nothing to do with wealth or income. It's become shorthand for developing nations, but that's really incorrect since places like the DRC and Vietnam don't count as third world nations, though they do in the popular imagination. "Third World" isn't derogatory, but it's inaccurate in the way it's used most of the time. If you want a more accurate, more polite term that doesn't sound pretentious you could say "the developing world."

Dude, Third world was considered offensive nearly two decades ago when I was in high school. Where've you been? If you must refer to other nations as being worse off than ours, and it's best to not use "blanket" statements, then developing nation, LIC or or "Global South" is better. None of those terms is perfect however, and given that most of the reason many of these countries are in a shitty state is because we colonised them and are still basically enslaving people to mine our diamonds and grow our coffee and bananas and chocolate, you could just avoid referring to such countries in such a derisive and dismissive manner at all. Especially when many actually are having such a boom that they are likely to be more wealthy than us in the future.

I don't think that word means what you think it means, judging by your insane ranting response which has absolutely nothing to do with a privileged attitude.

Oh yes I forgot, if you aren't starving in a 3rd world country, you have no rights to ever want to make anything better or solve a problem. You just have to put up with everything and you have to put up with things not going right because of the old *someone has it worse* bullshit. Enough with the "privilege" BS. I'm sick of that word being thrown around and overused. We have a right to want to better things, and just because someone has it worse doesn't mean we can't want to improve things in our own life. Go cry to someone who gives a shit.
