So Canada just elected the liberal party. Their platform? Run a deficit, raise taxes, give people cheap day care so that people without kids can pay for it and legalize marijuana so we can look "cool". Jesus Christ.

Racism doesn't exist #cuzobama. Ok, lets celebrate because there has been one black president out of the 40 something. Yay, racism is dead, lets have a blackface party to celebrate.

Just read about Bernie Sanders taking a donation from Martin Shkreli just so he could donate the money to a clinic that treats patients with HIV. Shkreli thought he could buy an audience with Sanders and he's now pissed. Bernie is a class act and I think it's pretty awesome he called out Shkreli for being a slimeball.

I honestly don't know why Christians these days focus so much on homosexuality and abortion. I'm assuming it's because they're very politically charged topics, but it's also just a way for them to hate on people "in the name of God". I think that if Jesus were here today, he'd be especially kind to everyone who is bullied, poor, gay, transgendered, homeless, etc. and would probably be really upset with the so-called religious groups we have. If you read about when he was here on Earth, it was basically the same thing--he was nice the people that everyone thought were trash and the church leaders at the time were more obsessed with stoning people for things than showing them love. I think this is part of why I struggle with organized religion. I just don't think it's very easy to find any religious groups that seem to be on the same page as Jesus was.

What about making people pass a basic psychological test along with an in-depth background check before owning a gun? And what about making that testing renewable, like a driver's license? I think if you need corrective lenses to drive a car you shouldn't be allowed to shoot a gun without them either. I dunno. Just a random thought.

How about all the gun owners who now have dementia? How do you get their guns away from them? This is a serious problem with our aging population.

My ex H would have shot me when the house alarm went off if he'd had his gun. Fortunately I'd hidden it on doctor's orders. Alarm was going and I had to go in our bedroom where he was in bed to shut it off. He'd have shot anyone who walked through that door. He was jumping around naked and screaming obscenities. It was kind of funny but scary. He was paranoid and mentally ill. Wild pigs had been rooting around the windows earlier that day and most likely set it off. It was an expensive gated community where burglaries and house invasions never happened. Some people shouldn't have guns but you can't legally keep them away from them.

If we can't even trust trained police officers not to gun down unarmed citizens in the streets, how could we trust teachers?

Looking back on the teachers me and my kids had, I shudder when I think about teachers having guns in the classroom. One principal had mental issues stemming from a war injury in Korea and he was on the edge of nuts all the time. Several were clearly depressed, and several had serious anger issues they took out on the kids, for instance one teacher who dumped a kid out of his desk, threw things at us, and finally decked a kid he didn't like. Who will screen armed teachers for mental health issues? Can't do that without the ACLU screaming about their rights. Time to buy a ranch in Montana and home school your kids.

A guy I'm friends with on fb posted a picture last night of his garage door open and said he came home and it was like that but he felt safe because he had a gun. Then he commented that his teenage daughter had simply left it open on accident but boy was he glad he had his gun. So, you basically could have mistakingly shot your daughter because you were amped up on testosterone and adrenaline. This guy is a dentist who lives in a super affluent neighborhood. The chances of him getting robbed at gunpoint are about zero but whatever. 'Murica.
