My friend is all up in arms about the Queen giving the Nazi salute....in 1933...as a child. Come on now.

Funny that the 9 people murdered in South Carolina were blamed for their own death because no one was carrying a gun (in a church), but the 4 Marines killed on a base, were not blamed for their own deaths. But let's blame it on the Muslim! Those terrorists!

Would Antman be appropriate for a 9 y.o.? Rating is PG-13 but previews don't look inappropriate.

I think most of us here would vote against name calling. This is the one and only warning, name calling will automatically cause your post to be deleted, sadly no matter how good a point you make in it.

Just because you date or marry a black man, doesn't mean you are appropriating Black Culture. I don't see the Kard's doing anything like that. Kylie Jenner is young and just wants to beef with someone for attention.

I don't think "appropriating black culture" is why the Kardashians are famous. I'm not really a fan of any of them in particular, but really, I don't think Kylie is obligated in any way, shape or form to discuss issues that affect black people. I'm sure if she would voice an opinion on ANY problems or issues involving blacks, then it would be "she's white, what does she know, she doesn't understand, who is she to talk, etc..." I could care less about any of the Kardashians, but sheesh, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

So while the white-girls-with-cornrows contingent were crying because they got the side-eye over their hairstyles an anti-police brutality activist named Sandra Bland was pulled over in Texas for "improper signalling" beaten by the police on camera and then found dead in her cell 72 hours later. The police claim she died of "self-inflicted asphyxiation." They're literally using the same excuse used by Apartheid police to excuse the death of activists they imprisoned unjustly. This is terrifying.

Does no one remember Bo Derek wearing cornrows in the 70's in the movie "10"? I was young then, but I don't remember this level of attention to it.

I think the cornrows thing is stemming from the original feud between Amandla Stenberg (Rue from Hunger Games) and Kylie Jenner. She specifically called her out because she and her family get rich off of appropriating black culture while staying silent and not saying a single thing about issues that affect black people. The issue isn't just the hair, it's that white people want to take things from black culture without giving a damn about how the people who invented the things you think are cute are getting shot by cops, growing up in fear, and treated as less than by the media and the culture at large. When American cops start murdering Irish people at a statistically disproportionate rate and getting away with, I will give a shit about a pub painted green or flying an Irish flag - most of which are owned by people of Irish descent if not actual Irish people.
