I have some mom friends who do everything "right"--serve organic food, buy all the latest baby gadgets, sleep train, etc. I also have mom friends who are a bit more chilled out about things. Both kinds of moms have pretty good kids. I don't think perfection means as much as some people think it does. PS...I like the chilled out moms better.

I pluck my DD3 unibrow and the top of her eyebrows. She looks like Eddie Munster meets Frida Khalo if I don't. I do it after her bath and it doesn't hurt her a bit.

Ok friend--your kid is cute. Very cute. But I do not need to see 80 pictures of him a day on Facebook. I'm sorry I've stopped "liking" them, but that's the only way they stop flooding my newsfeed.

Kids wouldn't stop fighting. Now they are cleaning...and still fighting. Wish it was legit to serve benadryl smoothies for dinner.

DSS' s (10 and 12) are moving in with us. I am excited because they are really good kids. We made a "rule" with their mother that they are living with us for at least one school year. If they want to stay after the year they are more than welcome to. BM (how fitting) is very selfish and puts herself first, not the kids. DFH stressed that the boys come first with us but we will not put up with her petty BS. She will come and get them for her visits (a 2 and a half- 3 hour drive) SHE pays the gas to come out, she will have clothes for them while they are there. We aren't changing anything, that's what we had to do. BM moved away from here, fiance didn't. She specifically asked the court what's the furthest she can legally move away without DFH being able to bitch. I realize these are her kids but it does make me happy the cow won't be running the show anymore.

After over a year and a half trying, I think I may finally be pregnant. Trying to wait another day or two to test because sometimes my body is cruel. I am trying not to get my hopes up, but I really hope that I am.

We cancelled our 2-week Vegas Vacation that we had scheduled for this summer. We had everything planned out, including the reservation at our Timeshare. My older brother and his family live there, so the entire family (our parents, all siblings, and all grandchildren) were going to be going, but DH and I decided that it'd be in our best interest, financially, to skip vacation this year. We want to be able to continue to save the money that we have, and build interest on it...not spend it on a vacation that's going to cost in excess of $3500+. Bills have always been paid on time, kids always have more than they need, but we've never had a comfortable cushion of savings until recently. We told the kids this past Friday what we've decided, and surprisingly, they're okay with it. They did admit to being upset, but they understood. We all decided that we can go to the coast for a couple of days, but nothing too expensive.
