I love my job... but I hate my work schedule. When my family is home, I'm at work. I can only have a weekend off if I take a vacation day. My kids are DS5, DD10, & DS15 and I'm missing all of those precious moments that I can never get back. As of now, I'm #3 on the seniority list (out of 10) to choose which shift and what days off I want, but because I'm also a trainer, I can't switch. Just to give you a little more insight, I work from 3 pm - 11 pm, with Thursdays & Fridays off in the law enforcement profession. If all goes well, I'll be out of this office and behind the wheel in the very near future. My hours will change from an 8 hour day to a 12 hour day...but I'll have every other Fri/Sat/Sun off. I wish I was with them right now.

It took me a long time but I finally learned I can't keep sticking my hand in the fire that is my in-laws dysfunction and be shocked that I get burned every time. They don't like me, never have and never will. It is time for me to stop wondering what is so wrong with me that an entire family has rejected me more than once. It's not me, it's them. And I'm done.

That age old question: Do I accept the friend request or not? Hmm...

I confess DS8 has really hurt my feelings. As his mother, I have done everything I could do to keep him happy and healthy since the day I found out I was pregnant with him. I love him with every fiber of my being. His father was barely there for the birth, and has done practically nothing for DS his whole life! Why then do I have to literally drag 2 word responses out of DS8 about anything, while he will happily offer up at least 20 min of info to his father about every little detail of his day! I am so frustrated and hurt by this I actually couldn't sing lullabies to him and his brother DS4 last night because I started crying about it...

Grown stepdaughter was telling everyone she was a virgin at age 26 and said she intended to remain so. Her family thought she was sooooo wonderful for this (religious based) decision. So then one day i answer phone and it's her distinctive voice. She says "Do you want to go to bed with me?" in a foreign language. I said her name. Dead silence. Then she hung up. It was her all right. She certainly had the wrong number (she was dating a much older guy and still claiming virginity, guess she'd hit the wrong speed dial). I never said anything to her and she never mentioned it. Years later when she married she still said she hadn't had sex yet, but I'm pretty sure the whole virginity claim was a lie and always was. I don't care (lost mine in my teens) but I have a problem with the lie itself, considering how widespread it was. the purpose was clearly to create a false impression of herself, but - WHY?

I'm so sad for dd right now. We planned this awesome party for her. Spent too much money one supplies and gifts for the GUESTS and after 20 RSVP that they are defiantly coming only 2 people came. She still had fun but I wonder if it is showing the true nature of these 'friends'.

This morning when I walked in the kitchen the first thing I saw was a lady bug. I live up North where it's still cold, hope this is a good sign.

I grew up in a big family with only one brother. None of my sisters can hold a flame to him. Never have I met a guy so mean and for lack of a better word- bitchy. And people always think 'oh poor guy he had so many sisters growing up.' No he acts like that because my parents fed into his crybaby bullshit and always shoveled on the sympathy. Oh and by the way mom and dad, thanks for not so subtlety letting the rest of your kids know what a burden we were just for being all female.

Woke up my pre-teen daughter at midnight to tell her she had a once in a lifetime choice: if I really make her so unhappy (had a manipulative meltdown earlier that day), I'd leave, for good and forever; but if she chose for me to stay, she'd have to agree to work together in bettering things. Of course she said she wanted me to stay. My confession: I meant it.
