So you're either a 'celeb' or a 'drone'? Really? I do research on cancer treatments. I don't think I'm a 'drone'. I'm certainly not a 'celebrity'.

I could care less about celebs. I think anyone with an amazing talent deserves to be known for it but those people who are simply 'famous for being famous' or 'famous because they married someone famous' or 'famous for being scandalous' or'famous because they look good' celbes? Waste.OF. Time.

I don't hear enough Annie Lennox. I think she is so overlooked, but such a wonderful talent!

Yes, that is exactly what I said about celebs. That was the whole point. I wasn't bad mouthing people who "made their bed" in ANY fashion. It was a comparison stating that we ALL make our beds for the most part. I have to get going now, but JFC, are YOU the "Truu celebrity"?

Not sure how many times I have to say it...not everyone who wants to act wants millions of dollars, or fame...some people just want to perform. And as to your "let me guess'" no, and um...no. "They made their bed"....um, isn't that exactly what you just said about celebs? Hypocrite much? Also, never called myself a geek...I'm not a Doctor Who fan. I don't call people's children having cameras stuffed in their faces "bothering" someone. I call it harassing someone's innocent kids. I also call going through people's mail, following them to places and using long lens cameras harassment.

Everything has its price. If you want millions upon millions of dollars, but don't want any of the "hassle" that comes with it, that's ridiculous. Most high paying careers come with stess that you take home with you. If that's not something you want, don't do it. Be one of the drones. Let me guess, you love to tout about lifestyle choices to people on welfare or who have too many children for your liking. They made their bed, right? I'm not making a personal attack, even though it might seem that way. I'm not saying paps don't go too far, but choices are choices, and frankly I have a hard time feeling sorry for some multimillionaire who expects their life to be perfectly flawless all the time. Heaven forbid anything BOTHER them! I personally find that crap boring, but it is what it is.

you don't think there's a difference between the crap like King of Snark posts or like Perez Hilton used to post, and a genuine community between geeks? They are a world apart. Also, plenty of stars just want to perform, and don't particularly want paps hanging around them 24/7. I don't think wanting to act and having success in your profession gives people the right to gossip about you and be nasty. Besides, people don't always know what's best for them. Look at Lindsay Lohan. And again, their kids haven't signed up for that lifestyle. Paps are the scum of the earth, and the people who consume that shit are drones.

Generally people who are famous want to be talked about. It's the whole meaning of famous. Most celebrities have strived to be famous. I don't like seeing child/young stars picked apart. I wasn't knocking Whovians or sports fans or anyone. I just don't think the difference is that great. The celebrities who seem to get the most gossip are the ones who are constantly tweeting or whatever, starting their own gossip anyway. Neighbors don't strive tone famous.

I admit I'm a celebrity watcher. I don't take pleasure in their downfalls and I also don't let their lives consume me or make me jealous. It's definitely a different world and it's intriguing. Yes I know they are humans and take a dump just like we do, but they are famous, they knew the price when they took that first acting job. There's nothing wrong with being a fan or a watcher.

Who are you kidding? Celebrity worship is the modern version of old biddies leaning over their fences discussing whether the town's unwed mother is going to get shipped off to a Magdalene laundry. If people had such an interest in their neighbours goings on, they'd be weirdo stalkers. These people who feel like they intimately known celebrities, are disappointed when said celebrities do something they don't consider right, and take a secret pleasure in their downfall are perverse. Like it or not, Dr Who is a form of art that creates communities of people who love to nerd out over their love...geek fandom does cosplaying, fanfic, deep discussion of stories and themes and lots of other positive, fun stuff that give them something to bond over. Statistics are useful, so is organisation so long as these don't become unhealthily obsessive. Celebrity gossip is nothing like that at all, it's peering through the net curtains at other people's lives, dragging their innocent children into being chased around by paps, and quite often ruining lives. If people weren't interested paps wouldn't exist, and they do so much damage to people.
