In response to a confession. I get the same thing. I work evenings, until midnight: my in laws think I need to be up at 7 anyway because they would. They shame anyone who sleeps late as lazy, yup. They say they like getting stuff done, as if you can’t do things after noon.

I'm so sick of early morning risers shaming me for needing to sleep in on my days off. Is sleeping until 9am so absurd? I only get 2 days off a week and I'm so happy when I don't have to set my alarm and rush out the door. I enjoy drinking my coffee and hanging out in my cozy house in yoga pants reading and relaxing, sometimes until noon. That does not mean I'm a lazy person. I'm an intelligent, productive, responsible woman whose body is on a different clock. So to those arrogant assholes that get up before dawn to be at the gym at 4:50am and think they're the shit because of it, eff off!

Venting- A friend has been on our couch for a month because she's getting a divorce. She's a great houseguest. I just can't take it any more. A month is A LONG TIME. I came home sick from work today and went to my room. I napped for half the day. She poked her head in and started talking to me...am I wrong to think that when someone is in their room, IN BED, that you should KNOCK???? We don't have a spare room so it's hard for anyone to get any privacy, including her. She's generally very considerate but my husband works from home at our kitchen table and lately she just hangs out there and makes it hard for him to concentrate. Thank God she flies out on Friday. She's a sweet girl but I can't wait until she leaves!!!

I'm pretty sure I had dream about my Dad last night. It was a tall, male figure. So I thought about calling him this morning. I rarely call out of the blue. While he says he's feeling better now, I'm still very doubtful. My parents have a long history of withholding info from us. I hope he agrees to doing the self-test and monitoring his oxygen.

I'm sooo frustrated with my parents lack of communication and honesty. I called my Dad today to ask about something and found out he's been sick since last week. He's coughing a lot and felt really awful, but I feel like he's still downplaying it. I have to convince him to go get tested bc he wants to ride it out thinking it's a cold. I really hope it is, too, but if it's more serious then we need to find out asap since he has other health issues. They are both vaccinated. I'm disappointed that my Mom hasn't told of my siblings when he got sick. We help our parents manage the household and paperwork, so the least they could do is be upfront. I'm so worried now.

I buy bottled water but still drink tap water at home. It's more of a convenience for work and traveling. Easier to keep a chilled/frozen bottle at my desk then to get up and walk down the hall every time I want a drink. The drinking fountain was shut off during Covid so it was a necessity. Only buy the store brands when on sale like 24 botlles for 3 or 4 bucks.

I just found out that my neighbor's wife passed away very suddenly. What can I do for him that would be helpful? It's just him, so I'm not sure he would eat a lot of food, although I'm intending to extend a permanent invitation to dinner. I hated having to throw out the flowers from my dad's funeral, so I'm not sure that would be the right direction. Any suggestions?
