I worked at a one hour photo lab. This pervy older guy would come in once in a while wearing, I kid you not, a trench coat. All of his photos were close ups of ladies crotches. At the beginning of the roll you might see the girls face or see her clothed. Once the girl was naked and wrapped in chains. Then he would want to go through the negatives and select a bunch to be enlarged. He always asked for me to help him. After a while I told him that someone else would have to help him with his enlargement orders. I was eighteen.

My first job was working at a trendy store at the mall. They figured out I was good at doing displays. I did some seriously butt ugly displays. They loved them. "Yes, I will hang some black, rhinestone bedazzled socks off of this fake gold crocodile tote bag! It goes great with the black bedazzled t shirt, obviously, lol!" I was let go after two weeks because I sucked at selling clothes. All I was good at was smiling, keeping my section neat, and putting ugly clothes together in surprising ways.

We make good money, but people assume I'm on food stamps a lot. I shop at the discount grocery store and I've had people ask me if I'm sure I can afford all the produce I'm buying with my food stamps. So if you're one of the food stamps judgers--just butt the hell out, ok?

Things I don't get- why do people act resentful of contractors who are working in their home? You paid this guy to come and re-grout your tile, right? Did you think that this was going to be anything but a noisy, dusty, time consuming process? I've had guys working in my house for a month at a time. It's a small house. No privacy when people are working there, but I know better than to be mad at them. Jesus, people are so fucking illogical.

Part of my old job was to do quality control on products for a fried foods production plant. Getting paid to deep fry mozzarella sticks at 8am? Yes, please!!

So I am home on a rare visit. My husband and I live really far away. Already my dad has cancelled on me twice to do chores for his wife's family. If he cancels on me tomorrow I will just ask him if I should ask him or his wife's family when I could see him. He should be a good son-in-law and help them out but if it is taking a lot of time away from his children from his first marriage then maybe its time to reel it back. Of course, last time I visited his wife bought a really expensive car and he took time out of our visits to take extra jobs to pay for it (his wife didn't help out). I felt bad for him and annoyed at her but then again he should remember that he has family. Apparently he doesn't even visit his own mother as often anymore and she lives 15 minutes from him! If anyone needs help around the house its his mom. My husband had to fix her roof because her own son is busy with his wife's family to help her with anything.

Steel mill. It paid so well and I got into super awesome shape. One day I was told to go cut some dunnage (wood to place under the steel on the flatbeds or in the rail cars), hey, there's the whole pieces and there's a chainsaw, get going. So I got going! It taught me that I could do near anything and yes even women can do manual/physical labor.

I worked at a convent for retired nuns doing housekeeping & now I work at a funeral home as a housekeeper. I worked at a zoo as a cashier. I never checked out to many crazy people until it came to Halloween. The people freaked out because the zoo was charging 25 cents for a bag.

One of my first jobs was working at a department store. It was so uncomfortable because each day I had no idea what department they'd place me in that particular day. Maybe I'd be needed in tools or maybe I'd be needed in men's clothing tailoring suits. Neither of which I new anything about, and of course, they gave me no professional training in those areas. Ugh, so stupid! Can you imagine a man buying an expensive suit and here I am, a young girl with no experience on her hands and knees with a piece of chalk folding up the material and trying to draw a straight line. Or trying to figure out where to take in the shoulders or sides? Lol! What a fucking joke! Needless to say, I didn't stay long.
