Am I the only person that never gets colds? I'm 28 and cannot remember ever getting a cold. I have sinus infections and allergy issues but never a cold. Sometimes I think people are confused as to what a cold is :-/

I think the new "trending topic" on here should be the weirdest/most awkward/shortest date or supposed to be date we've ever been on. I'll start of course. I'm engaged now but every once in a while I flash back to 4 or so years ago. A guy picked me up at my house for a date. I prefer not to date smokers and I had no idea he smoked. I got in his truck and half-way around the block I noticed a pack of cigarettes. I said "Oh, you smoke?" (or something to that effect). He got mad and drove back around and dropped me off at home. It's okay if you OMG this, I still OMG this memory in my head from time to time.

I once had my debit card declined at the grocery store. I was in college at the time and my roommate had cashed my rent check that I had forgotten about writing. I had a cart full of food and I had to ask them to hold it while I went to get some money. I drove to my parents' house and begged my dad for money for the first and only time in my whole life. I never, ever let my checking account get overdrawn again after that. I was absolutely mortified.

I read an article that said that kids who were labeled as very intelligent/gifted/smart usually end up being very afraid of failure and not as successful as they could be. This is so true for me. My DH and I have approximately equal IQs and he was always taught that you have to work hard for everything and his parents actually thought he was of below-average intelligence. Every time I think of trying something new, I think I'll fail and wind up looking stupid, which is something I'm not "supposed" to be. It's an interesting concept, actually.

I recently spent over $3k on new furniture for my house at a well known furniture store. There were a bunch of people around when the desk clerk swiped my card and it got declined. I was mortified. Even my sales woman had a look on her face like "there goes my commission". Thankfully it took breaking the totals down into 3 smaller transactions to go through. My bank apparently has low transaction limits.

You ever just want to cut yourself off from the world. I like to do that a lot. Once my husband and kids are in bed I'll put my phone and kindle away and grab a book or watch a few episodes of my favorite show that's not on the air anymore, or a movie I've seen so many times I know all the words. And just be away from the constant contact people seem to want to be in now. I can't deal with that. I need space and air and quiet. I need to turn off my brain for a few hours.

It has been almost twenty years since I had my card declined at the register, but I'm still nervous every time. Being broke for any amount of time leaves a mark.

Last night, I had dream that I was virgin who was pregnant with devil triplets. My periods have been terrible lately (ya think?). They keep me up with terrible cramps, pains, and crazy dreams.
