I started Chantix to help me quit smoking yesterday. My quit date is 5/1/14, and I'm excited, but I'm also REALLY nervous. Last time I tried to quit (cold turkey), I was an emotional wreck my about 26 hours in. Couldn't stop crying, it was a disaster. According to my doctor, that's what the Chantix is supposed to help with, but I'm still pretty nervous. I'm not even sure the medicine will work, and I'm afraid it's just going to give me mental problems (black box warnings)...but I'm trying really hard not to psych myself out. It feels good just to get that out.

Trying to spiff up the 1/2 bath since it's plain and boring. I really like those glass accessories that you fill with cotton balls, q-tips, bath salts, sea sponges, etc, but who is ever going to need any of those things in a 1/2 bath that only has a toilet and sink? The bathroom also could use some greenery from a pretty plant but there is no window, so even though I hate fake, it might look better than none.

I get called beautiful fairly often. But I rarely get called smart. I'd rather be called smart. I personally think I'm smarter than I am pretty...

no one, not even my own husband, has ever called me pretty. It is actually kind of depressing.

I don't understand the fascination for gun laws. I have a few people on my FB that loooove to talk about gun laws and how they hate Obama and the government and whoever else for "taking away their right to bear arms". What? And they want every law-abiding citizen to be able to carry a gun where ever they, school, church etc..I am all for our right to bear arms, but geez, why does your life have to revolve around guns? To me that seems extreme and scary that someone is that obsessed.

Holding off on car repairs due to finances. Car finally in the shop today and fingers crossed repairs are minimal.

I've got a slew of medical problems and two of them manifest themselves physically as excessive weight gain and a blind eye. Growing up I never considered myself "pretty", and I was bullied constantly as a kid for being fat. I lost 30 lbs and have been slowing going down since my tumor was discovered and removed, and I was put on medication to regulate my hormones. People call me pretty even though I'm still not skinny (250lb) and I don't believe them. Its happened suddenly, too so I feel even more weirded out. Two guys at work flirt with me, and some of the other girls I know tell me "but you're so pretty"! No... are you guys looking at the right person?

People claim marijuana is not addicting. I don't see it that way. So many people cannot stop smoking when they are job hunting and they have to use fake urine or someone elses' urine. If they have a job and know they may be subjected to a random drug test, they still smoke. If it isn't addicting, why do you put yourself through that stress and worry for a high?

Communicating with people online- especially people I don't know- doesn't sap my energy like dealing with people that are actually physically in my life. I can log out and the internet people can't find me! It's a beautiful thing. I only have to deal with people if I choose to. I absolutely hate getting phone calls. And pop-ins at my home are just completely unacceptable. Texts are all right, facebook messages are all right. Emails are preferred. But actually visiting with people and talking to people exhausts me. And the louder and more boisterous the person, the more exhausted I get.
