I am struck by how many confessions are about getting bad breaks, being on welfare, not getting enough help from parents, etc. etc. FYI: We make our own luck in life. Be glad welfare was there to give you a boost. Don't count on your parents, they have a life too. The sooner you accept these truths, the sooner your life will get better. Live smarter, get responsible for yourself, and stop griping. BTW, no one ever handed me anything. I worked for all I have and am stronger for it.

At the checkout line--I had three items and one of them was a bag of bulk coffee. The cashier told me she couldn't ring it up because it didn't have a UPC on it. I told her to weigh it and she looked at me like I was totally nuts. Then she called a manager who weighed it and priced it out. Geez, I get that you don't need to be a brain surgeon to be a cashier, but where the heck do they FIND these people??

So, I finally got to visit my dad yesterday but I should have just stayed home. Husband and I were barely there for fifteen minutes before dad's wife comes in and tells my dad that he has to go fix something at her mom's house. My dad said that her brother was home (he lives with them) and should help out there and that he was visiting with me. Well...in the end husband and I drove to Home Depot with him and then while back at his house, my dad said he would be gone for just 15 minutes. Well...an hour later he comes back. I should have left earlier but I wanted to see my dad. In the end, my dad felt bad and we went out for tacos but I can't help but resent him for not standing up to his wife. He is constantly at her family's beck and call and they look down on him (they tried with me by speaking another language that they thought I couldn't understand but I did and spoke it right back to them). I could tell he felt really bad (his father's wife couldn't care less) and I feel really guilty that my visit started this but he did invite me over.

You're getting kicked of your house for non-payment of your mortgage. You couldn't pay it because you had a baby. You have 2 months to find a place and get out. But you decided to drive a few hours to the beach, and spend a ton of money for a beautiful hotel and activities rather than...I don't know...saving for a deposit on a rental. Two parents, one refuses to work to stay home with the baby even though they have someone who will babysit for free, and the other barely makes over minimum wage and quits/gets fired every few months. poor baby.

I just completed day 1 of Focus T25. I'm dripping sweat and loved it! Was able to keep up with the group the whole time, but thank goodness for the modifier moves. :-D Yay me!

I inherited my dad's bad skin and my mother's veiny legs. *sigh*

If I could change one thing about me. Maybe my mother wouldn't have died when I was seven years old and left me with an alcoholic father to raise me.
