The men who worked for the company my husband worked for provided prostitutes for the entertainment of him and other executives visiting their country. This included 13-14 yr old girls in Asia who had likely been sold into the sex trade. This is a major US company w/branches all over the world. I don't know if the company paid for the hookers. Maybe it was the executives who were supposed to keep visitors 'happy'. It's still being done. H thought it was OK because the little girls supported their whole families on what they made. This is so evil.

I smoked. *hangs head* But - I only had one and I've decided NOT to beat myself up over it. But I did smoke one cigarette last night watching TV with DH. It's really hard because DH doesn't want to quit and he's made it very clear that he will not alter his behavior to accommodate me trying to quit. He says: "You knew I smoked when we met! You don't get to decide NOW that you don't like it!" And I get that, for him. That wouldn't be fair to him. But for ME I don't like it any more! So today is day TWO of trying to quit and I have not smoked today! Getting through the evenings is going to be a bitch though. I guess maybe DH will have to watch TV without me! Ugh. Not sure what to do about evenings. I did really well again this morning though.

Today, I am going to the gym. Today, I am going to eat right. Today, I am going to drink water. Today, I am going to stop procrastinating, and I WILL lose weight!

Maybe we should have a generic "family" channel instead of "parenting." That covers kids, parents, spouses, great-aunts, second cousins once removed...

It drives me nuts when people can't draw boundaries with their families. Like my friend complaining how she "can't" do anything this weekend because her aunt and adult cousins are coming to town. No, you tell them, "We'll have lunch and go to a museum, but I have plans after 7 so let me recommend a show and restaurant for the three of you." It's not impolite to have a life and not drop absolutely everything for someone coming to town.

I don't think we need a wife channel, or a body channel. There are men that post here - perhaps a 'married' or 'spouse' board, but still no necessary. A lot of members may want to confess about their significant other even though they are not married. I think 'sex' and 'stream of consciousness' are more than enough to cover relationship confessions. As for the body board well that's covered too with 'stream of consciousness'. If I were to nominate any additions I'd nominate 'Vent it out'.

I'm noticing posts are getting reposted but worded slightly differently. Am I the only one who has noticed this?!

My co-worker's daughter is watching my hamster while I'm on vacation. She texted me today because she's afraid he's not doing well. I hope he doesn't die while she's caring for him; it would be traumatic for her. Hang in there, little hamster!

This morning while enjoying coffee together, BF and I were having a conversation about how in the future what if people could create their own human-like robot companion. They would be life-like and could cuddle with you, etc. He said his perfect woman would wake up and say, "let's go out to breakfast", because he knows I don't like doing that. I laughed and said that my perfect man would wake up and ask, "where shall we go hiking today?", because BF is not naturally very active. It was fun to fantasize about the possibilities.

We got snow last night and I'm probably more upset about it than I should be, but I think I'm entitled to be a little peeved...this winter and spring have sucked big time.
