My boss contacted me repeatedly while I was on vacation trying to get me to take a position in another dept, and demanding an answer immediately with no written offer. It was a comparable position, not really a promotion. I said I'm not interested if I can't think it over, and please do not bother me because I am on vacation. It was obvious I was very upset at being bothered. DH was upset also. With both of us being upset from calls and texts all day from my job that day was pretty much ruined.I get ONE week of vacation a year.He continued to text me knowing how upset I was, with instructions to think about it, the final text saying I could give them my answer when I come back to work. I am wondering why he disturbed me on vacation to try to get me to make a lateral move that would have me no longer reporting to him. I am thinking maybe he wants to get rid of me and dosent want me on his team anymore.? I am an hourly call center employee not a manager who agreed to be on call

In response to a confession. I imagine people are annoyed by you being a grammar nazi due to the fact that your own writing is riddled with grammatical mistakes. People in glass houses, and all...

In response to a confession. People weren't annoyed with me. We actually had a good laugh about it.

In response to a confession. I too, am a grammar nazi. And I will tell you, I learned that I am not liked as one, no matter how right I am. And I finally came to peace about not pointing out every error, LOL. I tended to hide online behind my grammar nazi comments to complete strangers; or I was correcting fb posts, back in the day. I am guessing if you are calling out spelling mistakes in work emails, people are quite annoyed. Just a thought, based on personal experience - I’ve seen lots of dislike of grammar correctors. I couldn’t understand why, but there it was.

In response to a confession. Ok- I can guess but what is an 8 and skate day? Like, you worked 8 hours but accomplished little?a) if you had nothing to do, how is that on you? b) how would your boss realize and why get upset? Just curious. You DO deserve! As satire I am sure you miss out on a number of “benefits” like overtime Etx

Started my job search a little over a week ago and have my first interview today. I have the experience, but it was a long time ago. I took time off when I had my kids, then went into teaching for a while. Looking to get out of teaching and back in the corporate world. So I think my interviews are going to be key. Wish me luck!

I think less of my clients that pay their employees minimum wage. I have a lot more respect for those who pay their employees more, especially those small businesses that do okay but not well enough to make their owners wealthy... and the owner would rather pay his employees a living wage than go out and buy a boat. And those are usually the businesses that have reputations for excellent work and fair prices. Imagine that.

Cell boarders makes me think of the Japanese hotels where you sleep in a little cell. Like a cell boarder. Derp. The cell boarder is within the cell border. Herp-a-derp.

In response to a confession. We had an email chain about a new template in Excel and everyone was spelling cell borders "cell boarders". I was the only one who caught it and my boss ARGUED with me saying it was supposed to be "boarders". Yeah, I'm not gonna lie--my boss is kind of a bitch sometimes.
