You buy liquor from the state's liquor control commission, not the department of labor. *headdesk* Sure, sunshine.... you're an experienced bar manager.

In response to a confession. The raise came and it will be retroactive. Thank god, but its still a huge amount of work for one person.

GOD I hate these multi level marketing companies. They are so freaking predatory! Stop guilting women about having real jobs, stop pretending that you spend all day with your kids and only need to spend an hour or two a day on your phone doing your "side hustle", stop pretending they can earn a real salary shilling shitty makeup or jewelry or weight loss shakes. These people suck.

.... you call me up and start spewing figures immediately.... do you REALLY THINK that I have your shit up on my computer BEFORE you've even called me? OMG I hate you. You really do think you're my only client, don't you? Truth is, you're so fucking high maintenance that I LOSE money doing your work. This might be your last year here, sunshine. We've fired clients before, and for less.

Today, a reminder popped up on my phone that said, "6 months down, six more to go... you can do it!" I'm so glad I put that in my calendar. After one full year at my job, I can transfer out of this bullshit. Only six more months to go and I'm out of there!

Some of us come in when we're feeling sick because we don't have the luxury of FMLA that a few privliged ones do. Our absences count against us.

In response to a confession. For similar jobs in my state with the cost of living being about the same, I make $20K a year less than what most companies pay. However, most companies would want me to have a PhD for my job where my company doesn't require it, so maybe that's where the decreased pay comes in. I do have a bachelor's and a specialized master's but no PhD...I still think I'm a bit of a slacker because I only put in about 45 hours a week and not 60 like some people put in. I think the people who work a lot of OT are hourly though and get paid for it. And our CEO wonders why we have high turnover at this place....

I wonder constantly if I'm working hard enough at my job. I get all my stuff done, but I don't have time to work on many of my long-term projects. Also, a lot of stuff gets delayed due to things I can't control, so I can't work on things I want to work on. I dunno. I just feel like I should be working harder. Although...I feel less bad about my pace now that I discovered I'm underpaid by about $20K a year and I'm salaried, so I don't have any motivation to work overtime.

In response to a confession. I enjoy these posts, lol. I would love to spend just one day in your office to witness these shenanigans!

The one time of year when you can be of use to me... and you can't show up. Fuck you.
