In response to a confession. That would be wildly unprofessional. If they ask why op thought they weren’t happy with the service is she supposed to cite the tiny tip? Unfortunately when you work a job like that you’re gonna get stiffed sometimes... that’s life. you don’t confront people and essentially ask them why they didn’t give you more money.

For the love of all things holy, I hate the process of getting a reformulation approved by our stupid marketing team. I finally got my product to taste right, but now they question whether we NEED to do the reformulation or not. Quality and myself agree that we do because the current product gets clumpy and gums up the auger that fills the bottles. So now we have to sit there and audit a run of the current stuff and time how long it takes them to clean the auger off, take pictures of the clumps, etc. to prove how bad the current version is. I swear their only job is to make mine harder.

I start a new job tomorrow. I'm nervous. I'm 50 years old, and starting over isn't fun... but it's so much closer to home I couldn't turn it down. I just hope it goes well!

So I got a five dollar tip on an 80 dollar meal. I have no idea what I did wrong to deserve that. I really don't. I thought I gave them good service. First time getting a truly shitty tip. Kinda hurt my feelings. Mehhhh.

I'm generally calm, quiet, introverted, but had to stand up for myself with an abrasive and rude coworker who is so demanding like his needs are always a priority and it doesn't matter what you're doing -- he will interrupt to ask a dumbass question. I feel proud that I advocated for myself today, but still not looking forward to working with this guy.

When I was let go from my job they asked to come with them to HR to "have a quick meeting and sign some paperwork" I laughed and walked out. I knew an exit interview was probably part of it.

In response to a confession. I had an exit interview conducted by the office manager nobody on staff trusts. I wasn't going to give her much information because, frankly, I don't trust her either. I did give them some constructive criticism about some of the things they do... and the lack of training, lack of cohesiveness as far as "firm policy" and the lack of morale. One thing they did that destroyed morale was to take away our little perks, like closing early on a Friday before a holiday weekend. Working only a half day (with pay) on Good Friday. Having Christmas Eve and NYE off (now have to work a half day). So ridiculous.

In response to a confession. Today's paper: Dilbert's boss- I'm looking for ideas on how to reduce turnover. Dilbert-Maybe you could increase our pay and stop thwarting our chances of success at every turn. Dilbert's boss-I'll ask someone else.

I started my job in February and I am already looking for another one. They told me I would be taking incoming calls from potental clients interested in doing business. I am basically a human auto dialer voice mail about 90% of the time. About 5% of the time I am just hung up on. The other 5% I actually speak with sometime, but most of the time they either hang up on me or say they are not interested. I have an actual conversation with no more than 10 more a day and I make hundreds of calls every day. They have also changed the pay schedule making a longer wait for comission, they changed my actual start date after I started, delaying my benefits by one month because I was "in training" and not "fully hired" and they changed my schedule. and they are very very disorganized. They only good thing is that almost everyone is very nice.
