So update on my DNR job. I thought I was supposed to hear back by now, but I didn't. I got an email from one of my references. He said he received an email today from the DNR supervisor asking about me and he told me he wrote me an amazing review and that he hopes I get the job!! Maybe I will hear back tomorrow. I guess it takes a little while for them to check with all your references.

In response to a confession. Can we not refer to people who have rage issues as being "bipolar"? That term gets thrown around negatively so much and it's just not fair. Several very dear friends of mine are bipolar as is my MIL and none of them have rage issues. Mostly they have issues with sleeping too much sometimes and then having bursts of very productive time.

Things with SCW (sabotaging coworker) haven't gotten much better. I think she's bipolar. Nice one minute, raging the next. Per my job description, I'm available afterhours in urgent matters. But everything is urgent to her and I was feeling like a personal assistant. After doing much of her work over the weekend, and then having her rage when I stopped responding Sun night, she raged at me via email and in person on Mon morning. And raged some more when she saw she wasn't affecting me, lol. After talking to the boss, he announced that afternoon that from now on, no one is to contact me after 5pm or on weekends with the exception of the urgencies he outlined. She asked if <issue from Sun nite> was urgent and he said, "Somewhat, but it's something you can do yourself." So two more days of rage and a text at 7:30pm tonite, asking to do the same thing as she did on Sun nite. I said no. Can't wait until tomorrow!

One of my college professors gave me a word of advice, years ago. She said that whenever you have an interview, send a handwritten thank you note. Already have it ready to go with a stamp, and when you leave, then put the interviewer's name on it and drop it in a mailbox, so they'll get it the next day. Worked for me.

Man I have a coworker I think is really cool. We have a lot in common and shoot the shit frequently. But this week she's said some shit that makes me think she sucks as a human and has me questioning why I like her. One being how anti vaccine she is and another being that she doesn't know why women would want to go to women-only events, and that there should be men-only events too, and why should we be afraid of men? Yikes.

I did send a follow up email thanking her. And then she sent me an email today saying my old boss's email didn't work when she tried it--I panicked and called my old job and found out they were bought out and everyone got new email addresses. I sent her an email saying my boss's email had changed and I was unaware of it, so I sent her the new address. Geez, I feel like a dork but I really hope she understands. I had another interview today for a job that--get this--wants me to have a college degree, wants me to work every single weekend, has 10 hour shifts, and they pay $10 an hour. Eff that.

In response to a confession. I think it went well!! I find out next week if I got the job or not. If you're the praying type, I could use a few. I want this job more than anything.

My DNR interview is Wednesday. I'm so nervous and excited for it! I also have another interview on Friday. The problem though, is that I get interviews but no offers. I'd like at least one to come through for me this time.

In response to a confession. Flutterby--are you looking for jobs right now? Are you aware that it's not always easy to find a better one?? And even if you ARE the smartest person and hardest worker out there, you have to get that across to the HR people who go through resumes and pick you for an interview. The job hunting process will make anyone feel like a loser at the very least. I'm trying to leave my DH too. I am looking for jobs and out of the tons of them I've applied for, I've gotten maybe 4 interviews and all rejections. It SUCKS and if you can't come bitch about it anonymously, where can you bitch about it? Hugs to the OP on this one--we can do it.

In response to a confession. Oh, fuck off. I'm an extremely optimistic, smile through the pain fake it til you make it kind of person. I came here to vent. None of my friends even know I'm miserable- or looking to get a new job and leave my decade+ relationship. Sure I'm whiny on an anonymous forum, years of being shit on will take a toll on you. I grew up with my parents resenting my existence, while favoring my older and younger siblings. Got out of my family and into a relationship that was great until it started being abusive. Still there, still at a dead end job that has promised me promotions only to give them to people from outside the company.
