In response to a confession. I hope you’ll tell them why you’re leaving. I worked at a law firm for eleven years and during my exit interview I really cut loose. I named names, provided examples, and predicted major problems. It wasn’t a bad parting of the ways; I was just trying to speak my mind. Some changes were implemented, and I had a ‘Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead’ party when one particular employee got fired a month later.

I have worked where I am for almost 5 years. In the last 18 months, it has gone to hell. Punitive rules implemented, micromanaging, huge turnover of long-term employees (even some with more than 10 years). It's obvious something is broken, but the company is making money so the big shots don't care. Well... was offered a new job that is much closer to home and a raise of $5,000 per year. Gave my notice, and they are SHOCKED that I'm leaving. Well... they didn't care about the employees' needs before now, so why would I care about the company's??

LMAO. So we're supposed to be coming up with ways to reduce turnover at work. A bunch of people told HR that our benefits just plain suck (and they do) and the PTO/vacation is skimpy compared to other area companies. Then they told us these ways of reducing turnover can't involve pay or benefits. SMH. Benefits are key. I know people who stay in lower wage jobs if they have sweet benefits.

I had an interview this morning. They loved me and I got the job, which is kind of shocking to me. I woke up with a nasty cold and was zonked out on medicine lol. I had to concentrate super hard on trying not to cough the whole time. Came home, went to sleep, and woke up to an email with a job offer. Well I'll be damned.

So the new server job... I think I'm cool with it. I'm only going to work Fridays and Saturdays. Last Friday I averaged $15/hr and Saturday I averaged $22/hr. And I've already lost 5lbs. I think as I get better at it, I'll make more money too. It's just so funny to me because I've never had to be so fake in my life. I fake-like my coworkers (I'm not there to make friends, and they ALL talk shit behind each other's backs) and I fake-like the customers. (I'm not a people person and I couldn't care less about any of it) .... but I am getting better and better at being whole-heartedly full of shit and fake smiles.

I'm going to resign this week and have no idea if this company pays out PTO. I have 2 weeks saved up, but there's no employee handbook, so I'm going to have to ask my boss, when I tell her I'm quitting, if I'll get a payout of my saved time. If she says that they don't payout, she ain't getting 2 weeks notice. I told my new job that I would like give 2 weeks notice and then take a week off, but I can start earlier, if I want. It's no sweat off my balls if the crappy company I work for now has to scramble to fill my job. Bye, bitch.

I am getting so annoyed with the head-butting between my department and the production team at work. They get bonuses based on output so they try to go as fast as they can when making pills. But the quality sometimes suffers so of course instead of noting any defects, they just hope we don't catch them. I think we need to do away with it but I know that won't happen. Such a broken system and I'm usually the one who has to fix the mistakes.

Found and interviewed for my dream job. I'm almost positive I got the job, the only issue i'm having is that the benefits there really suck in comparison to my current job. It's a new company though so things could get better in that regard. I don't know if I should take the job and forgo my good benefits, see if i can work part-time at each in order to keep my good benefits, or wait and see if the benefits at the new place change then reapply.

In response to a confession. I'm so sorry, and I can empathize. I have IBS. It usually kicks in within the first half of my morning coffee, and everyone had better get out of my way. This morning I'd had several sips of coffee when my boss called. She was headed into an all-day meeting and wanted to go over some things. Oh boy, here it comes. I couldn't get off the phone, and I was trying to hold it. I couldn't. Yep, I had to poop while on the phone with my boss. That's my confession. lol
