In response to a confession. With all of the recycling that is happening, I really don't see things getting any better. I don't think it's working.

In response to a confession. Not sure why someone would try to force people to recycle? It's because we want for our children to inherit an earth that is habitable. A dead whale washed up in Thailand recently. It died because it had ingested seventeen pounds of plastic, including 80 plastic bags. We need to do things differently. Yeah, some people choose to try and fix things. Some people are going to pick your Coke can out of the trash and recycle it. Why? The human race is going to cease to exist because people are fricking morons, that's why. Jesus.

In response to a confession. Actually you don't have to pick it out and move it, you choose to. You can't force people to recycle. Not sure why you are trying to.

I have a coworker that every time she sneezes she tries to hold it in. It always sounds like a huge fart.

This is so irritating. They redid the kitchen at work. Now the large, 55-gal trash can is in a compartment behind two doors with a slot, kind of like what they have at fast food places. There were no recycling cans until a couple of us raised a stink, so they finally got one. It's the size of a small wastebasket, sitting next to the compartment, but it's a bonafide recycling can, blue with the symbol. Idiots were still throwing regular trash in it. So one day I made a big sign, with TRASH and RECYCLING in huge letters and with big arrows, highlighted in orange, pointing to the respective cans. And every day, every single time I go into the kitchen, I have to pick trash out of the recycling can and throw it away. WTF!!!

So...what would you do? The DNR supervisor who interviewed me for the position I wanted told me there would be another position opening for a limits calculator. She strongly encouraged me to apply saying I would be highly suited for the job. I applied on the state website. The website said I "didn't meet minimum qualifications" because my engineering degree isn't from an ABET-accredited school. Should I email the supervisor and let her know? She told me that they were going to be updating the website to include 4 year engineering degrees from non-ABET accredited schools. I feel like if she personally recommended me for the job, she feels like I'd be more than capable of it even though my degree doesn't match up.

My dispatch interview is today! I bought a new suit and redid my resume. I'm so nervous. 90% nervous about the interview, and 10% nervous because I'll be going directly to work from it... And my current job has a very laid back dress code so people are going to be up in my business about why I'm dressed up. My only hope is that I get time to change. I have not told my boss I'm interviewing or looking for a new job.

I'm feeling all of a sudden overwhelmed with my new job. For almost two weeks, they basically had me doing nothing and now they just threw a whole list of stuff at me and they're like "here, do it" and I really don't know where to start. I had to start contacting people and so far, I've gotten a few undeliverable requests and some replies that are totally in French. I hope I get settled into it soon. However, since I do work for one of the biggest personal hygiene product manufacturers in the world, we get SUPER nice TP in the bathrooms, free tampons/pads, and all the Kleenex we want. That's probably the best perk I've ever had at any job.

Coming back from a work event, before I exited his car after a deep conversation, and in a moment of gratitude I suddenly asked if I could give a hug. He agreed. Arms wrapped and our cheeks accidentally touched. I left light-headed. Later I apologized for crossing boundaries since all other hugs have felt platonic. He didn’t mind it and said it was genuine, natural moment that we both responded to. We met up for lunch on our break today. We both expressed a mutual connection and possibility of exploration. He says we’re doing a dance. His gaze looks and feels different now. Like it reaches deep into my soul just like our connection. Yep, he’s still moving in 3 weeks and I’m still in a LTR. Timing effin blows.

During a game of horse, I found out he played basketball all throughout HS. We both beat each other, but man I’m impressed and happen to be a bball fan.
