In response to a confession. Elderly people can be so judgmental. Especially my parents who sit in their filthy house all day and criticize everyone And yes I do clean the house for them, it is a disaster again in a week. I grew up in a dirty house, now I can't stand it.

My boss is interviewing people this week. He asked one woman for her drivers license right at the beginning of the interview saying he wanted to send her for a drug test. She asked if she was being offered the position and he said he was seriously considering her.She refused and said she did not want to reveal her age without an actual job offer..I hope this dosent turn into a huge problem.

Ho-leee shit, Elderly CW! Did you really just dog on one of our clients because she decided to foster FOUR children who's parents couldn't take care of them? Just because she got me the paperwork late for a tiny little company that she works for? WTF is wrong with you? Oh yeah, you're a little old white lady who's husband wouldn't let her get a breast reduction even though your back was in pain for YEARS and you just went along with it because he was the man. When he died, you had half your breasts removed! Oh! And lets not forget about the disgust you felt when you went to Vegas and witnessed *gasp* interracial couples HOLDING HANDS right in the street! Sometimes I forget what a POS people really are because I happen to be white and hetero, and working in an office like a good little girl. *fume*

I always try to get out of work after-parties and social events. Look, my co workers are nice people and there are one or two I am quietly friends with outside of work. The rest? They are fine but not necessarily folks I want to spend my precious free time with. Unfortunately our company loves to have employees mix and mingle, do team building crap and host thank you dinners. I'm sure some of them love it. I do NOT! I want to be home with my husband and kids. I want to NOT talk about work things once I've clocked out. I don't want to do team building, especially unpaid! I don't care how tasty the dinner is, I'd rather eat my own home cooking. Seriously, I beg off at least 99% of the time. If my career has taken a hit for it, so be it. I'm in it for the paycheck not to be part of your "COMPANY FAMILY" BS

pt 3- I am also hurt that my co-workers, who I have been advocating for, are not coming to my defense. I didn't expect thanks, but I sure didn't expect this. One person did come to me and say, "I thought I should let you know that some people are upset with you." "Who?" I asked. (no answer) "You have my back thought right?" She said, "...I just thought you should know...""Again, you have my back, right?" (uncomfortable silence) "...I'm just telling you." WOW. I am sick of being surrounded by weaklings, cowards, backstabbers, and petty bitches. I want out of this snake pit!

Pt. 2- One person who sent the complaint is someone I like and respect. She at least brought her concern to me directly. The other person I will call Betty Backstabber. She had a whisper campaign going against a colleague last year and almost got her fired, but I put a stop to that. This year she actually came to me with a big problem, which I got fixed for her. Her gratitude lasted one week. I am hurt by the betrayal of someone I respected and angry that Betty Backstabber (sorry, the name fits) is probably behind the whole thing.

Pt. 1- I have been away from my worksite for a month advocating to make our system better for my colleagues and the people we serve. The day I come back I find out that two people I work with sent a complaint about me being away. Before I left one of them asked me "Why are they making you do this?" and I responded, "Would you like me to help you understand why people in our profession ask me to do this for us?" I'm so hurt and angry about this.

I've been at my job for about a year and a half and have yet to go to any work parties. I spend 40 hours a week with these people. They're nice enough, but I want to be home with my family during my off hours. I'm very upfront about this and it FREAKS people out. Several of my coworkers agree with me, but they're afraid of not going, for some reason. Like they think they'll get in trouble for not socializing. We're all hourly employees, who have no chance of advancing with the company. Stay home if you want to stay home! Sheesh.
