It's gonna be one of those days. I can feel it already. Here's the thing: I put financials for six different companies on your desk for review three days ago. And now I'm working on financials for a whole other client. So you hollering out questions about COGS last year vs. this year or why somebody's sales are down from last year (how tf should I know?) or why aren't they doing any advertising this year (again, how tf should I know?) doesn't help me get anything done. Do you want me to stop working altogether and just wait with bated breath to research and answer your next question, or do you want me to log some billable hours? Hm?

In response to a confession. She sounds nuts. Why is it his responsibility to cater to her dysfunction? It sounds like she isolates herself by acting like a crazy person and then plays the victim. I can't stand people like that.

In response to a confession. I don't blame him for avoiding her. Chances are, he could be upfront and mature and it wouldn't help. I've worked with emotionally volatile people before and the only thing you can do is stay away from them. Being an "adult" and talking it out is really only feeding into their desire for drama. They created the situation so that there will be meetings and mediations and a whole frenzy of attention surrounding them. In my opinion, he's doing exactly what I would do-- self-preservation. It isn't his job to keep her emotionally stable. Fuck that noise.

In response to a confession. Yelling Lady did thank me via text yesterday for taking time with her. Today I went into the office after being in the field all day. He was basically hiding from her. He told me there is a board meeting tomorrow and she has a proposal. He previewed her proposal, saying we should get support lined up in advance *because if anyone asks her questions she will yell.* I sat with her, told her it was a great idea. I calmly asked her my questions, and she was getting steamed quickly. I suggested to her that she may need to prepare for a lot of questions, and try to stay cool. She blew up and said everyone is "always picking on her." She is too thin skinned. If she is proposing an upgrade that costs thousands of dollars, people might have questions, and they should be able to ask them.

When I go to work, I miss my dogs and my DD. I work alone primarily, there's nobody to talk to. It's boring af sometimes.

I posted a while back about my client hiring his son to manage the business, and the son f*cking it up royally yet being given another chance. And here's me, in the middle, supposed to keep the dad informed of how the son is doing as far as keeping up on business taxes. Welp, the third quarter came in and the unpaid tax balances are higher than ever. Not a single payment, other than the ones I initiate. I'm really uncomfortable with this. The dad's gonna want to shoot the messenger, and the son is going to blame me for throwing him under the bus. This just sucks. Aaaaand my boss is on vacation. Nothing like twisting in the wind here.
