I am getting so annoyed with the head-butting between my department and the production team at work. They get bonuses based on output so they try to go as fast as they can when making pills. But the quality sometimes suffers so of course instead of noting any defects, they just hope we don't catch them. I think we need to do away with it but I know that won't happen. Such a broken system and I'm usually the one who has to fix the mistakes.

Found and interviewed for my dream job. I'm almost positive I got the job, the only issue i'm having is that the benefits there really suck in comparison to my current job. It's a new company though so things could get better in that regard. I don't know if I should take the job and forgo my good benefits, see if i can work part-time at each in order to keep my good benefits, or wait and see if the benefits at the new place change then reapply.

I'm going to start looking for a new job. Resume is all done, and pretty damn good, if I do say so myself. I have a job now, it just sucks and it's time to move on (been there for 7 years). Thing is, I don't want to start a new job until August 15th (or later). It's June now. How far ahead should I start sending resumes? I know it can take months to find a job. But with my luck, I'll get a great job right away and not be able to take it because they want me to start sooner. BTW, I don't want to start before then for family reasons. It has nothing to do with my current job. I work for the school district, so my summer schedule is really light. I can't easily do a full-time schedule until August.

Today is my first day on the server job and I'm nervous af. I have to go over there after I'm finished working, at my regular job. I've tried to memorize as much of the menu as I can, and like what sides go with what, and what beers are on tap.... but man they have like 13 different seafood entrees on the menu. (why?) And I cannot remember them all. I'm freaking out. Oh, why did I agree to this? *freaks out*

Okay party people. I am having a little decision dilemma and want some input. I work full time in an office and it's all good. However- my DD20 who just moved across the country left a slot open at her job as a server in one of our local higher-end restaurants. Her boss is a client at my office and was just here complaining that he can't find servers. I joke, "I still have her uniform shirt and I'm free on weekends!" .. You should have seen his eyes light up. I think I may have accidentally gotten a job as a server. I told him I've never done it before, and I could only do weekends. He was so excited. I dunno though. Advice? Thoughts?

I started a job early this year and so far it has been great. Now they are going to change my hours in July. I am afraid I am going to be unemployed again if I cannot work the new schedule. I was hired for Mon-Fri 900-500. I made it clear I cannot work late nights. They are arent telling me yet what my new hours will be.They supposedly "don't know". I am looking for another job just in case. I don't know what else to do.

Poll: Is 80 hours of PTO for the year to use on both vacation and sick leave enough? That's how much I get and I feel it's stingy. Especially since DH's company gives them 120 hours of PTO to use for both.

My work makes this big deal about how they’re fair to everyone. My dad died in March, I took a week off in April to go home for his funeral, and I came back to a regular day. Co-workers brother dies (I understand the relationships are slightly different) and my manager collected money from everyone to get her a card, flowers, and an edible arrangement the day she came back to work. They decorate desks for birthdays and here my birthday is and my desk is empty. I get that I’mnot Super chatty and I don’t MAKE people acknowledge me. But at the same time it makes me feel forgotten and completely not valued. I’m nice, I’m just quiet.

Dude sends me a file through google onedrive. I click the button to request permissions, and then I email him and tell him he needs to verify my access and send approval. He emails me back, "Yes, I approve." *headdesk*

I cannot freaking stand my little snivelly coworker. He is only 24 but acts like he is much more important than everyone else in the company. He tries to get everyone else to do the crap work he doesn't like doing. So I get stuck doing all the boring spreadsheets and paperwork while he does the fun R & D work. My other coworker asked me how this kid's ego got so big and honestly I think it's happening more and more. I can't stand his whiny little ass but he's the only person I don't get along with so I just try to avoid him as often as possible.
