I’m the OP who was thankful for the uplifting advice about weight loss. Well, I haven’t done any of those things. I wake in the morning, drink two cups of coffee, take a shower, make the bed, fix breakfast then clean up, and spend 45 minutes on Facebook and reading blogs. I feel OK, then all of a sudden I’m so sleepy. I lie on the bed, and if DH doesn’t wake me, I will sleep all day. I will wake up, fix dinner, clean up, spend some time on my IPad again, and am ready for bed by 9:30. I’m telling myself it could be that I’m low on iron again, but my gut is telling me I’m suffering from depression.

It is completely legal to post a picture you took of someone on the street on Facebook. Courts have repeatedly ruled that if you are in a public space, you should have no expectation of privacy. That's how the news i able to post videos of people at festivals, walking down the street, etc.

Our neighborhood has several Facebook pages. It's become common on these pages to "shame" people for bad behavior. Usually it's driving. Now that everyone has phones and there are a lot of dash cams, people will post pics or videos of the behavior. I will say that I live in a fairly affluent area where there is A LOT of entitlement. This seems to be reflected in the driving here. Many times it's teenagers driving like jerks, but most of the time it's adults who don't feel like they should actually have to follow the rules. Traffic on the nearby main road is horrible. I see people all the time driving on the shoulder to pass bumper-to-bumper traffic only to cut in at the last minute. Those kinds of things. People lose their minds because they say it's wrong to post this online. I say call them out. Maybe if they are outed as a jerk or have a fear of it ending up online, they won't be such a douche. Thoughts?

There's a Facebook tagging group called This Relationship Sounds Exhausting. I forgot where I was for a second and was going to try and tag it on that last confession.

So a friend of my mom's messaged me on Facebook the other day asking if I'd help her friend find an apartment in my city because she was going to be relocating for her job. I said sure and found a bunch of nice places that weren't in bad neighborhoods. She got all pissy with me and said "the rent's too high" or "it doesn't include utilities" or "it's not close enough to the lake". Damn, what happened to being grateful? That's the last time I help anyone with something like that ever again.

Stole this from Facebook: "Feminism is not blindly supporting any woman regardless of character just because she's a woman. I can see where the confusion is though because misogyny is blindly OPPOSING any woman regardless of character just because she's a woman."

My mom is scratching her head over why she got a Facebook ban. Apparently, someone reported reported one of her racist right wing memes. She doesn't know that I'm the someone.

Related to the oversharing on social media posts. I hate it when people overshare private info about their kids. My kids are 14 and 12. If I ever post anything about them or even a picture of them, I ask them if they are OK with it first. I just think it's a huge invasion of privacy to post everything your child does without asking. My oldest daughter's mom was in a Facebook discussion on our neighborhood page (big subdivision and over 1000 members on the page). She proceeded to tell everyone that her son wasn't circumcised and why, etc. I'm sure your middle school aged child is thrilled that everyone knows that now. I read what kids' grades are all the time. And so on. You shouldn't post private (or any) info about your kids just so you can be more popular on Facebook.

Wow, never even thought of the 'blessed' thing to be a form of bragging but it absolutely is. Humble bragging. I very rarely talk about my daily life or vacations on facebook but I do have one friend who always brags about having 'haters', her fancy vacations, selfies, and expensive belongings/e.t.c. She's almost 30 and her behavior hasn't really slowed down. On top of that, she lies about her background, including where she was born and raised, what type of schooling she had, and what her ethnicity is. Seeing her content always makes me roll my eyes.
