I'm an INFJ. We're the most extroverted introverts. It can be confusing to family and friends, because I'm fairly talkative and outgoing at get togethers, but it exhausts me for, no joke, weeks. And people don't understand why I don't want to go out every weekend. Like, yes, I had fun with you last Saturday, but my battery is drained and I need to recoup. If that makes me an asshole for flexing my introvert status (lol, whatever the fuck that is), so be it. I understand my needs and anyone who isn't emotionally mature enough to respect my boundaries can fuck alllll the way off.

I think it's safe to say that marriage is only good for financial reasons in general. You have two people pooling money together to operate one household. If you had roommates, you could do the same thing just about. My DH makes a lot more money than I do, but I also do about 2x the housework as he does. I'm glad we get along and like each other enough to stay married, but I definitely get why a lot of people get divorced after kids are out of the picture, especially if you have a spouse who's not there for you emotionally.

My "nail in the coffin" from dh was early last year. That's when I started planning. Part of the plan entails getting a particular job, which I couldn't do until the youngest was in college - which will be in September. I would then have to be at that job for at least 6 months before I can act on the exit. That amounts to over two years of planning. All I can tell you is to keep your eye on the prize. Yes, it can be hard sometimes, but I don't want to give him a clue as to my intentions. The hardest part for me is when he makes an effort and I think, "Oh maybe we CAN work this out," but then he does something shitty again. I'd say the emotional roller coaster is the hardest part. I'm torn apart that this is happening, but I also feel duped.

Something I just realized....I've never been emotionally attracted to men. I've never seen a guy and just want to be with him because I am madly in love. I married DH only because I knew he'd be a good partner. Meanwhile, he was over the moon in love with me from the beginning. He would be really lost if I died first, but if he goes first I won't really mind much. I have found being married has been pretty overrated for me. I am really independent and don't like doing everything with DH.

I’m the OP with the ‘moving dad’ saga. DH and I took him to dinner tonight then to the grocery store. We were all exhausted, and kind of quiet. We got him home and I got a little emotional...he had just left the house he and my mom built together and I had been asking her to make the move with Dad because he misses her so much. So I went to use the bathroom before we left and when I closed the door a feather floated onto the floor at my feet. I have no idea how it happened, but I feel so much better knowing that Mom is with him.

There are so many reasons why I’ve put on weight over the years. Old sports injuries have kept me from exercising very much. I can walk, but running is out because of bone spurs, arthritis and instability in my ankles. I absolutely walk. I walk a lot, but getting in my 10,000 steps every day just isn’t enough now that I’m in my 40’s. My shoulder is bad and I avoid anything repetitive. Life stuff has really gotten me down and out multiple times in the last 6-7 yrs and my anxiety and depression have been super not good. The drugs I take really help me, but the top side effects are....weight gain. Yay. I emotionally binge eat, but really try to maintain a healthy diet if possible. It sucks. I eat oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast, mixed greens and a chicken breast for lunch and a decent dinner but then I get anxious and panicky and end up eating two bowls of cereal before bed. Believe me, it is super easy to pack on the pounds even if you’re not lazy or addicted to soda and fast food

My parents have both passed away several years ago, I miss them, but I do not miss how they treated me. They were very strict when I was a child, and a little neglectful at the same time, my mother was emotionally and verbally abusive with occasional physical abuse, my father was a controlling and got nasty if anyone disagreed with him. As an adult, they were judgement and critical of pretty much anything I did, or said. And then there was the nonstop guilt....and for some reason they treated me worse if I was single. When I had a boyfriend they backed off a bit.

I'm sorry you're experiencing being treated differently due to weight gain. I know exactly what you're going through. I was super thin all through HS. In college I suffered some emotional trauma and started drinking too much. I gained about 35 pounds and when I returned to my home town the reaction was incredible. People thought nothing of commenting on my weight, saying unkind things and being just downright awful to me. I had never been cruel to anyone in my life, in fact I was a shy quiet person, never a mean girl. But some people must've been jealous of me when I was thin because they sure took delight in putting me down for being heavy. Even guys I dated who seemed to really like me would comment on my "extra fluff" and how I could stand to lose a few pounds. Over time the weight did come off. They say sometimes it's your degree of confidence that changes and that's why people treat you different. I don't know, I felt like the same person whether I was thin or heavy.

My mom is a hoarder and her basement is wall to wall junk, and every piece of junk has emotional value to her. When she eventually moves out it's going to be a disaster.

As a new employee with a high strung preceptor, withhold from taking out your personal frustrations on your coworkers. That shit sucks. I realize I'm new and I'm going to make mistakes, but I'm not a fucking garbage dumpster for your emotional bullshit. Go to therapy, meditate, I don't care. No one deserves that crap.
