I really hate the fact there is so much pressure for the teachers to be armed! WTF?? so if a teacher refuses to be armed, and her class gets shot up, she’ll be blamed for the loss?? I think that’s bull shit. Besides, i don’t care if a teacher receives training in handling a firearm, it won’t be enough to go against a crazed maniac with an AR15. Just like Police officers get killed all the time, war soldiers too! And they are super highly trained to kill!!

One time I found a jewelry box and turned it in to the police. I waited an hour before they talked to me. They were rude and asked me if everything was still in it. Why would I take something out of it and then turn it in? How much you want to bet that they never got it back to the owner? Do you think there is somebody down there looking at every robbery report to see if a jewelry box fitting that description was reported stolen? Unless a report was filed of a stolen safe, listing every single thing that was in it, that gold coin would never get back to the owner. It would sit in a locker at the police department.

My DH was driving down the road and had to hit his brakes because there was something in the road. When he saw it was a safe with the door hanging on its hinges he stopped. Next to the safe he saw a small envelope, which he picked up. It contained a gold coin. He called the police to report a rode hazard. When he came home and told me the story I was so glad he didn't hit the safe. Today I looked up the value of the coin, and it is worth $1356. What would you do? Keep it? Turn it in to the police?

I knew she spelled them wrong, but, like I said, I'm not petty. Grammar/spelling police annoy me. Usually, when people start picking at grammar, it's because they can no longer raise their argument. Since I'm the one who originally brought up anecdotal evidence, I wanted the op to know it was someone else who was snarking at her. There's several things you could argue against in 53176 but you chose spelling. You do you, but I think it's lame.

I don't know why Dh's ex is so obsessed with asking Dh & dsd what my dd and I am doing, what I own, where I work, etc. She left Dh for his cousin, has him as a husband. What Dh does with his life & the fact that he is now also married shouldn't matter to her. I shouldn't have to tell dd, my friends & family to be extra careful to make sure his ex doesn't make a fake profile of me to become their friends on social media. We shouldn't need cameras outside our home to prove to courts how she constantly sits at our drive as well as comes to our front door to bang & scream obscenities & goes to dd & dsd's window trying to coax dsd out of the house during Dh's parenting time. I'm tired of calling the police to get her to leave & them not arresting her. I'm tired of being blamed because I'm a Sm & having my intentions for treating dsd well questioned.

We got a brand new specialized school in my neighborhood and the drop off line usually pours into the street. It got so bad that police officers hang out there to ticket people who aren't obeying traffic laws. Fortunately, I can avoid that area as it's in the opposite direction of anywhere I need to go in the morning. And the silver lining is that I guess my neighborhood is a lot safer than I expected if we can allocate squad cars to do traffic duty and not worry about actual crimes being neglected. My nieces/nephews schools drop off lanes are terrible too- when I've had to pick them up/drop them off I always parked in a nearby neighborhood and walked them. They live too close for a bus but too far to safely walk to school themselves.

Even the most right wing news sites in my country are now begrudgingly pro-cannabis as are most of the people who comment, it's rather startling to see and it all seems to have happened in the last year or so. It's so ridiculous that the government is still digging in it's heels. Especially given our craptastic economy and the amount of tax revenue legalised cannabis would bring in...they could tax that shit like they tax cigarettes I'd still buy it, I bet a lot of people who are scared of the current law would. The public has truly woken up to the matter, you have people treating their kids seizures with oil, and grandmothers growing weed to distribute to their friends who are suffering with chronic pain. As if the police are going to throw any of those people in jail they know what an uproar it would cause. Meanwhile, black and brown skinned people are still excessively penalised for it. It's time the government accepted the truth.

I'm not saying OJ didn't do it. I'm saying when you have a lead investigator who has such vile views of African Americans, people may very well not put it past him to plant evidence. It's irresponsible for a juror to say, "The police really screwed up this investigation, but I'm going to convict him of murder anyway." Mark Fuhrman planted enough of a seed of doubt that the jurors didn't put tampering with evidence past him. It happens every day. Heck, there was a police officer in St. Louis recently who was caught on camera planting drugs in a black suspect's car. Do you think things like that really don't happen when there's NOT a camera there?

No doubt he was a racist, but that doesn't mean OJ should have walked! That cop didn't plant the hair, footprints, blood, DNA, etc. Plus he went to OJs house on a previous domestic disturbance and didn't even arrest him then, so I doubt he was out to get OJ. Sure that case may have been bungled by the incompetent police, but the physical evidence is just overwhelming. Not to mention the motive, no alibi, etc.

I think OJ walked because the police officer who spearheaded the investigation was caught on tape using the n-word and other racial slurs freely. Yeah, I'm sure someone like that does fair investigations of people of color. I'm white, at that may have been enough for me to acquit him too. Maybe we need to get all the racist a-holes off the police force.
