Dh just came to tell me he's going to go buy some cigarettes... I responded with "didn't you just buy a pack yesterday?" And he actually pretended not to remember. So I say "you did... And you bought one the day before that and the day before that..." He went to a mental facility for a month and a half last fall and in that time they got him (sorta forced) to quit smoking. He was past the cravings and mood swings. He was all excited about having extra money and we should put the cost of a pack into savings and I'd have to remind him that we couldn't always afford his cigarettes so we probably won't be able to afford putting all of that into savings. Then when he comes home gives some bullshit excuse as to why he NEEDS to start smoking again and since I was out of town I couldn't really stop him. I got him to agree to smoke less since we couldn't afford his pack-a-day habit (it's over $10 for what he smokes) before he quit and still can't afford it 2 months later. And every time I remind him he's smoking too much I get this look and attitude from him that says he thinks I'm being a huge bitch. We are broke, he is the only one without a maxed out credit card, and he's slowly maxing it out for cigarettes. But I can't say much about it because I used to smoke. I NEVER let cigarettes take priority over groceries or medicine like he has, I quit when I found out I was pregnant so obviously our child, in my mind, takes priority over cigarettes but not for dh. I get paid on Saturday and we'll be cutting it damn close with wipes and diapers, and he doesn't care. I used to not really care if he smoked, but now I'm starting to resent him every time he buys a pack or lights one up around us...

I'd just like to point out that the female victims of fundamentalist Muslim regimes are also Muslims and would be pretty insulted if you told them otherwise.

Kid came in my home, throwing a ball. Told him to stop after he threw it at my face. He continued anyway, breaking a clock I bought in a foreign country; obviously not replaceable. Father did tell him no, but obviously the kid doesn't listen to Father. Discipline must not be a big deal in child's home. Father needs to get a grip on his kid. DH told him kids not allowed in our house anymore. My face is KILLING me. Father's not offering a dime to replace the clock. He seemed sorry, probably embarrassed, but why not do something about the brat to stop the behavior from occurring in the first place so the kid can go in public and into other's homes without hurting others and destroying property? Wouldn't that be the solution? No kid doesn't have mental issues, etc.

I might be getting fired from my call center job, and I'm honestly terrified. But what can I say? It's my fault. I started to slack off because I was so sick of everything, mentally draining, but it's one of the best paying jobs in the area with no degree required. I'm so scared right now. :(

I'd prefer to stay anonymous, but no not physically. He's just like my bipolar schizo mom all of a sudden. If he feels threatened he'll apply mental or emotional abuse, never physically. It wasn't always this way, and the funny thing is that I really don't know what triggered it. I don't know what I did. But Ifeel like he's given up, and I'm about ready to give up too.

I'm going to chime in with the huggging confessions...I DO NOT like anyone hugging me except immediate family. The "huggers" of the world unnerve me. I don't like people just coming into my personal space and squeezing me. It feels really bizarre and quite intrusive. I think some people just don't get how weird it is for the more private kinds of people. I've had work people hug me before and I just don't like it. I try to put space between me and people but sometimes it's hard to avoid it. OH and those people who have to hug every time they see you? AWKWARD! It's like I have to mentally prepare for it every time I know I'm going to see this person...UGH I HAVE TO GET THIS HUG OUT OF THE WAY....

There's a picture of a woman at some woman's rights event completely topless with "still not asking for it" written on her abdomen. Cue response from some idiot saying "It's kind of like wearing a meat suit and expecting not to be attacked by a shark". Is that how these men really want to see themselves? Sharks are not intelligent (and I say this as a big shark fan), they are instinctual animals that attack based on primitive responses and reflexes (that's why they attack mostly at the surface, where swimmers look like wounded animals that are easy prey). If I was a dude, I'd be pretty damn pissed that some other guy was implying I was nothing more than a dumb animal with no higher thinking, sensitivity or moral reasoning. It's so weird how MRA's will yell about sexism towards men and then spout stuff like this off...if people see men as stupid, aggressive animals then what can they expect but to be treated like stupid, aggressive animals by the media and scared or judgmental women? Why would a woman want a man who sees himself as nothing more than a rabid beast to have custody of their children, or indeed anywhere near her?

I was raped. If I got pregnant I would abort it without a second thought. Like I would want to look in the mirror every morning to see the physical damage that my rapist did to me... and to ruin my body giving birth. The mental damage from being raped by someone I trusted so dearly nearly drove me to suicide. I don't think I would have been able to handle anything more than that. It wouldn't have been a "child" to me. It would have been a parasitic infection put in me by a disgusting monster that violated me. Nearly six years later and hours of therapy, just thinking about that "what if" still makes me ill. I wasn't on birth control when he attacked me. I was a virgin waiting for "the one".

I cannot stand dramatic people that act like hypochondriacs (I understand it's a mental disorder. The person I'm referring to isn't diagnosed as one, she is just dramatic and annoying). One of my friends just now heard about the Hot Pocket recall from FEBRUARY. She posted it and said "I haven't been sick...yet. I'm scared :( ". I said "The recall was 4 months ago. You'll be okay". "I ate them in February though". "That is my point. If you haven't been sick in the past 4 months, you aren't gonna get sick from them". This is the same girl that went to the doctor just because she found a tick on her. No symptoms. No fever. No rash. No headache. Do you know how many people find ticks on them? They don't rush to the doctor!!

I think mentally ill people are attracted to internet forums. It gives them a chance to interact with people, sort of. Also if they are too ill to work, it's a hobby.
