He is mentally ill and I'm his ex. I'm probably the only person on earth who knows how bad his mental situation is, due to spending 24/7 with him for years. Not even his dr. knows the full extent of it or the violence that results. He is now seeing a woman who wants to marry him. They have a long distance relationship. I was afraid he might kill me at times when he was out of control. He can never change because of damage to his brain. I don't want to be near him ever again, but I would feel terrible if he kills someone because I kept my mouth shut. Do I try to get word to her about his true mental state? Or not?

Has anyone ever had to break up with their best friend? I think i may have to and it's breaking my heart. we've been best friends for about 17 years or so but she's changed a lot - and maybe i have too - but i no longer like hanging out or even talking with her that much anymore. over the past few years she's become extremely judgmental, bitter, and temperamental toward everyone but i think i get the brunt of it because she's known me the longest (and I'm a bit of a pushover) and i'm tired of it. the only reason i've put up with her change in attitude for so long is because i do love her and when she would start acting out i'd try to remember the person she used to be but that's not working anymore. it's just so hard because i've known her since we were in middle school and it's not like i can just get a new best friend this late in life (i'm very introverted and kinda shy) so it's either i (painfully) end the relationship and have fair-weather friends the rest of my life or have a best friend who i only sporadically like being around. i don't know which is worse at this point.

My DH is having a total mental breakdown right now. He's bipolar and has been manic since Thursday. It's literally scaring the shit out of me. I finally took him to the ER today and they gave him a bunch of sedatives and he's finally asleep. He's been awake pretty much nonstop since Thursday night and he hasn't eaten a thing since then. He told me I might have to start acting more like his caregiver. I'm only 32. I don't know if I'm ready for that.

(white supremacist gun nuts went apeshit) Well, let me guess what we're going to find wrong with this post. (Not me, but somebody will.) white - how dare you be a racist, who cares what color they are? supremacist - pejorative term only suitable to rednecks who feel anything but supreme so they have to make themselves feel superior by owning: guns - which should be (a) confiscated or (b) given to anyone, even the most clearly: nuts - who belong in a mental institution but can't be confined because they have: rights - so that every white supremacist gun-toting nut can go apeshit and shoot anyone they want. Make that gun-toting black, Hispanic, and Asians too.

I think the US needs to start and maintain mental health hospitals again. No family is able to deal with serious mental illness in the home or the dysfunction that goes with and which allows them to believe that the mentally ill person is really not that bad. I'm sick of mental patients on the streets. This puts an untold burden on all of us, much more than maintaining decent mental hopspitals that will keep them from harming us. (I have dealt with mental illness in my family, so I'm serious about this.)

I haven't heard from my friend in over two weeks. We usually touch base once a week. She has been struggling with mental health issues and when I don't hear from her it's sometimes because she's back in the hospital. Hope she's OK

Too many people on the internet think that if someone believes in God, they're automatically a hate filled, judgmental hypocritical Christian. No. Guess what? I believe in God. I don't go to church. I don't associate with one particular denomination. I cuss, I drink, I have premarital sex. I also believe in evolution. But yes, I believe in God. I think God is good and he answers prayers. I also believe my deceased brother is in Heaven. I KNOW, SHOCKER.

I was scammed by an ex boyfriend. He took my favorite tshirt and my expensive Maglite that I had for many years that actually saved my life once since I used it to fight off a rabid dog. Very sentimental items. I also had to pay a cell bill of $800 too. He fucked like a rabbit too. I don't know what I was thinking. I sooo regret it soo soo much! I know it's mainly my fault, but I know that's what he did with all other women, just scamming them for shit. ugh. I'm so embarrassed still.

Teachers having relationships with students is absolutely predatory. There is a difference developmentally between an 18 yr old and a 17 yr old doing things, vs. a 25+ yr old and a 17 yr old. That's why romeo laws exist in some places. It really does bother me when society would jump all over a male teacher and see a female student as a victim, but a male student isn't considered to be victimized. (Not that anyone is doing that here, just a general society observation thing!)

My IQ was tested. My aunt was hoping to get social security benefits for me. I think it was a psychologist who tested me. He gave me a pencil and told me don't use the eraser. I still used it anyways so he made the assumption I must be lacking in intelligence cause I didn't follow his orders. He was barky and bossy and lacked compassion and my aunt was a POS who didn't want me but wanted to benefit from me financially. I decided not to pay attention to the test and pick whatever answer cause I didn't care. My aunt and the psychologist told me I tested at a level some with mental retardation would have. She never got social security benefits for me that I know of. That was one of the darkest times in my life because I had just lost my grandparents who took care of me and my siblings and my aunt felt the need to do this to me at one of my lowest points in my life. I wish I could go back and punch her in the face.
