DD 11 has been learning about the holocaust. Someone must have been burning leaves or something because ash was falling while we were chilling outside. She looks up at the sky and says, reminds me of when they burned the bodies. I must admit, because of the lack of context I was a bit worried for my daughter's mental state.

I no longer assume that the person I'm dealing with is dealing from a full deck. Better to deduce that after actual proof they're not mentally ill or sociopathic, etc. One in four people in US has mental problems..

My cousin called my daughter's name "played out" compared to the "unique" name for her child (that has to be repeated twice and is not spelled the way it sounds). I just looked at her point blank and said "Hopefully my daughter will stand out for more than just her name but for her actions and character." Besides, my husband chose my daughter's name from remembering my wedding bouquet. It is a sentimental choice and one personal to ourselves. I am not going to try to make a kid to stand out by just her name through crazy spelling or a new made up name. It is a classic one that I stand by and happen to like.

So I saw a girl I used to know. I found out that she was going around my back and talking about me to her husband's friends (supposably her friends) and finally she was with them and saw me and tried to say hello. I didn't acknowledge her but I just said hello and wanted to walk away. She tried to tell me what her problem was (me not inviting her over anymore or something like that) I just cut her off. Finally, she tries to get confrontational with me and throw insults until I finally told her that I knew she was talking about me, that I was sick of her coming over and fighting with her husbands all of the time (her so called friends looked at each other and you can tell they knew what I was talking about) and disregarding other people for her own feelings such as telling me my depression wasn't a "big deal" but then told me her entire mental history. I said she may not like me but I was a drop compared to the ocean of people who don't like her.

I am on another board, and a judgmental old lady has just stirred the pot and ruined things for everyone. Why are old people so effffing judgmental?

My uncle had mental retardation...he was the sweetest man. I don't remember much about him except that he used to love wrestling. He would watch it and look at wrestling magazines all day. Which was great because at the time I loved wrestling.

Special Ed students can't help the way they are born you do realize that right...if we're talking about mental retardation...

I throw compact fluorescent light bulbs in the garbage when they burn out (it does happen). What idiot decided bulbs for use in your home should have mercury in them? How is that more "environmentally sound"? I'm not taking one burned out bulb 20 miles into town to the nearest collection center. I put it in a small cardboard box so it doesn't break before the garbage truck picks it up. After that? Whatever....

I confess I am judgmental of women or families that have a lot of kids. Hey, it's a confession!

my sister has been on disability for her mental problems 4 years now...... she does do some therapy, but I don't see how it is helping her. instead of having a small job, she sits around the house all day and eats and watches TV and plays on the Internet. she calls me and my other sister bad people, cause that's lazy and beg for money and screams when we don't give her any. she is abusive to my mother. I don't love her I think she is a waste to society.
