The problem with most doctors is that they are human. You know how you will read about two studies, one that says eating hamburgers doesn't effect heart attacks, and one that says hamburgers cause heart disease? If you love hamburgers and have had no heart problems, you tend to believe the first one and dismiss the second. If you aren't fond of hamburgers and have no heart issues, you tend to believe the second. Doctors are the same way. Their are constant studies that seemingly contradict each other, and doctors have biases just like everyone. I get the frustration, I once had a doctor want to inject me with drug that caused migraines in > 20% of the population AS A SOLUTION FOR MY MIGRAINES. But she said the injection had worked for her personally, so she felt it was a miracle cure. I am a big believer is researching the heck out of anything the doctor orders (inserts are there for a reason!), and going for a second opinion if anything seems odd.

My heart issues are worsening quickly and I can’t see my doc until May. ER’s aren’t treating anyone without COVID19 symptoms. We had planned to sell our home and within the next couple months move to Florida. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how I may not be around in five years. It was my idea to consider the move, but now I think DH would be happier if I was gone to stay near our kids, grandkids and his sisters instead of friends in Florida. I tried to discuss it rationally, and he yelled that he’s supposed to die first and he’ll move heaven and earth to make me better. Now he won’t talk to me.

I've been checking in on my elderly aunts and uncles with all that is going on, and it is just reminding me why I don't have a lot of contact with my family. Everyone is just so dysfunctional and I try to preserve my sanity. This talk with my auntie broke my heart though. With Coronavirus, everyone got laid off of their hourly-wage jobs, and they were working 2-3 jobs just to survive anyway. Their unemployment isn't going to add up to doodley squat. It's a mess. This country is a mess.

I’m 63 years old, diabetic, and have a mild heart disease. I wash my hands a lot (always have), have mild shortness of breath (thanks, AFib!), and consider myself low risk because I’m not around other people. Today my shortness of breath is worse, I’ve got a cough, and a splitting headache. No fever though. I’d like to share with DH, but he’ll insist on going to the ER. Self-isolating and self-monitoring (quietly).

That is probably because you are in your mid 30s. 50 is when is goes the other way. Menopause doesn't care how much you exercise and eat right, your body goes through a lot of physical changes, and they aren't pretty. Skin sags, weight shows up in weird places, everything gets dry and loses color. While men, as long as they do a small amount of exercise, tend not to change much. Unless they go bald, but even that has a certain following. I personally say screw worrying about how you look, and focus on your heart and mind aging well.

I can #metoo so many people it's not even funny. One boyfriend (he actually held me down and sodomized me), an ex-husband, a guy my friend and I were talking to on the beach one night, a guy I'd known for years who sexually assaulted me, three coworkers, and two relatives (one female!). It's heartbreaking and makes me feel like I was nothing but a "plaything" to these people.

I had a vulvar boil almost three months ago and had emergency surgery, then was diagnosed with a couple heart problems. It’s been a slow road, and I’ve been battling a bit of ‘why me?’ lately. Three days ago another boil popped up, below where the first one was. I used hot compresses, BoilEze cream, squeezed till it hurt and prayed a lot. Every time I use toilet paper it’s there and it’s hurting. Today I broke down and called the surgeon, who said she needs to see me ASAP (tomorrow at 9 a.m.). That was two hours ago. Fifteen minutes ago I went to the bathroom and my underwear was dark with blood, and when I sat down blood gushed from the boil. I’ve got gauze on it, which I’ve changed three times, and DH is having a freaking fit. He wants to head to the ER....I’m just happy it opened up.

My fil just died suddenly from a heart attack. My cousin was just shot to death by police in Alaska. I know deaths happen in threes, but I'm just not ready for the third. Holy shit.

So my DH is finally starting to give a shit about his health. He hasn't been able to finish in bed for a while and he knows he eats like crap. I started cooking healthier things for him to eat and he is actually eating them, which is surprising to me because he normally turns his nose up at veggies. His grandpa died of a heart attack at 50 and DH turns 40 this year, so I think he's finally taking it seriously. I just wonder how long it'll last.

My husband has chosen crack, and his "friend" that also uses, instead of his marriage. I am heartbroken. He made it abundantly clear tonight that he's going to "help" (enable) this guy... and I can't do this anymore. I just can't.
