I have noticed that police have gotten much nastier over the past 10 years or so. You cannot shield your DD from this forever.

My dd8 and I visited my dad last week and DD talked about some Labor Day homework with him in which she said she learned at school "the police had to break up fights between protesters" during this time. My dad went on a politically fueled rant with me later about how the police hurt peaceful protesters during this time and how I should complain to the school because police are bad and this is inaccurate. It's been days and he has not let this go. Honestly, I don't know how inaccurate or accurate this statement is, but I'm not going to bring this up to her school. He even went as far as telling my DD how all police are bad. I don't turn a blind eye to police violence, but I'm not going to tell my DD all police are bad. Like, dad can you just not have this conversation with my 8 year old? I feel like these kind of discussions should be for older children who understand these kind of situations a bit more...

I've never seen anyone on social media saying white people "shouldn't live or shouldn't have babies" and I know a lot of black people who are politically radical. I know people who are antifa and have been arrested at protests. I know people who are active in Black Lives Matter and the anti-police terror project, who are calling for the police to be abolished. They never talk that that. I don't know where you are getting this. I see a lot of disgusting racism from white people.

Here's a hilarious and also sad story that really shows the state the UK police force is in these days. Courier visits elderly lady's house. Lady shouts through the door to leave parcel on the step because her Yorkshire terrier is excitable with strangers. 10 minutes later she opens the door and the delivery guy is still there. He then starts running down the path screaming that the dog was attacking him and falls over, and has two tiny scratch marks which (apparently) look like old injuries, no blood. A neighbour of the lady escorts him to the hospital, telling him to "stop being such a pussy". SEVEN police officers then show up to seize the fucking colossal, slavering, rabid Yorkshire terrier. This six inch tall, 14lb sounds like the absolute terror of the neighbourhood. And I'm sure there's nothing better then police could be doing.

Moved into my apartment 6 months ago. Very nice place and not cheap. Some new meighbours just moved in across from me. Young couple. First they set up a surveillence camera with a motion detector light on their door. Then they got in an argument and were screaming and yelling. Today the got in another fight and she stormed off. When I arrived home tonight the police were in the parking lot but all was quiet. After they left the yelling started again. I can see into their bedroom from my window. Huge confederate flag on the wall. I am unconfortable living here now.

DH is a part-time/volunteer fireman and our next door neighbor is a police officer. Police cruiser in one driveway, and DH's emergency-light equipped vehicle in the next? Yeah, people don't speed in our neighborhood much at all. It's kinda nice.

So my DH signed up for Citizens' Police Academy. He goes once a week to the police station to learn from the cops about what they do on a day-to-day basis. Mainly he wants to be a more informed citizen and since we live in a not-so-great neighborhood, he wants to be aware of what to look for that'd be suspicious enough to call the police. There are a lot of drug houses around here, so it'd be nice if we knew what to look for so we can report it.

Dss is 14 now. I'm 39. I've been dealing with my privacy being invaded for 4 years. Everything from bills and paperwork being stolen, pictures being taken of my kids and our belongings, conversations listened to or recorded ending up in his mother and her lawyers hands. Dss shows up with questionaires from his mother and her lawyer with personal questions and demands for information regarding my kids, our education, my childhood and businesses. She's had Dh in court multiple times. They can't order us to comply and my income and what I spend on myself and children does not increase Dh's CS or lessen visitation. She's been ordered to stop sending police for welfare checks, calling hourly, and showing up demanding entry on Dh's visits. Thanks to getting security surveillance system we finally had enough evidence for stalking that me and my kids got permanent restraining orders keeping her from our home, etc, thus Dss stepping up his spying for his mom interrupting Dh's time with him.

I've posted about our neighbors with three little dogs that they'd let roam the 'hood. These dogs would run out of their house and charge at you, and if you weren't looking, two of them would bite. We've all called the police, but nothing's done. They finally got an electric fence when I went ballistic on them - I was standing in my driveway with my dog when they came charging at us, trying to attack us. It's been relatively peaceful since then. Well, they went away for the weekend and left the dogs out. Non-stop barking from Fri nite to Sun nite. Cops were there twice but did nothing - just knocked on the door and left. Animal Control was called - nothing. Dh and I went over. Poor dogs were shaking and had torn open trash bags looking for food, so we left food & water. They came home before dark and you'd THINK they'd try to find out who fed their dogs to say thank you, but NOPE.

ExdH allowed his wife to call the police on me for dropping ds4 off at his house. I had to pick ds up from daycare early due to him not feeling well, so I drove him to ex's house. When I pulled up his wife's dd (I recognized her from pics I had Ds take) and another girl were walking out of the house. i asked if ExDh or her mom were home. She said they were unavailable. I had Ds who was crying at this time due to his fever get out of the car and I left. About 45 minutes later I get a text from the wife stating I had no right to leave my child without exDh or her approval and her dd is not my babysitter, how could I leave my child w/ someone I never met as if I'm neglectful, etc and I better pick him up w/in 15 minutes or she is calling the police for abandonement and will use the report and call cps. She actually called and filed a police report. An officer called me after I text exDh that he can keep ds for the week. How dare she, they always say their home is ds's home. I guess not.
