Wherever you are reading now, I want you to gently close your eyes for a second. Feel the heaviness around your eyes as you let them relax. Now take 3 deep, full breaths in and out. Feel your hearts, lungs, and your whole body refreshed with new air. Good. Take another 3 deep, full breaths. Feel a bit better? No? Okay, nevermind.

There used to be a group home in a neighborhood. One of the clients was a tiny lady who walked to the drugstore nearby. She always carried a baby doll and pulled a little red wagon. My husband and I always used to guess what she carried in her wagon and then, one day, we saw it. It was a laminated picture of David Hasselhoff that she toted around with her. Bless her little heart. Haven't seen her in awhile. Hope she is ok.

my weight has been all of the spectrum, from obese to too skinny. I am always the same person, no matter what I weigh. I have a good heart, work hard, treat my friends well, take care of my family, and responsible with money.... it's amazing how are those good traits would just count for nothing if I happen to gain 20 pounds.

One of our dishwashers was caught sneaking leftover, uneaten food out of the kitchen and giving it to a homeless shelter. He nearly lost his job. I know he meant well but can you imagine how awful it would be if there was a salmonella or E-coli outbreak in a homeless shelter or soup kitchen? He'd go out for a smoke break and load the stuff ready to be thrown away into his car and let it sit there until his shift was over. His heart was in the right place but he had no idea about what type of hazard he was creating. I understand when he said if you're hungry you'll eat anything, but making an already desperate person sick does them no favors.

I recently had to sign up with a new large medical practice because of a move. I wish the doctor I'm seeing would acknowledge that I am a human being instead of five minutes reading my chart, barking out orders to me, and raising her eyebrows at every statement I make. No, I never smoked. No I never drank, and no I don't take drugs never have. Yes, I am taking a prescribed sleeping pill because I can't sleep. My mother is dying, I'm her caregiver, and she's running out of money and I'm being sued by my cousin over her care and my husband is in rehab for heart attack, and oh yeah, he has dementia too. I am 68 yrs. old. It's awful and it's true and I don't need raised eyebrows. Just a physical.

II honestly think people are way too sensitive, take things way too much to heart and think things that are said are mean or purposely directed against them. 99.9% of the time nobody is thinking about you, they are thinking about their own issues. Just calm down and stop the whining.

I love my DD35 with all my heart, and her dad and I did everything we could to raise her to be responsible. Through the years we've had to bail her out financially because of her choices. Two years ago we told her the Bank of Mom and Dad was closed....this morning she called to say her water had been shut off and she needed $250 to get it turned on. This was after being at her house last night for my granddaughter's birthday party...where her parents gave her two purses, a pair of Keds, jeans, 2 t-shirts and a new cell phone. Priorities????? I may be wrong for paying for the water bill, but the Mom in me just couldn't help it!

My dad did everything right. Ate healthy, lived healthy, everything the doctor asked him to, pushed through the hard treatments and was winning that battle. They still wanted him up above and they didn't give up until they had him. Sometimes life is not fair and I'm so heartbroken. I want him back.

I'm a white collar woman but grew up watching Roseanne. The way the series ended still resonates me as it is a very real dose of reality for any human who has a heart and a sense of how reality is not always pretty.
