I love watching Hallmark Christmas movies, but Jesus Christ. This is the third movie with Lacey Chabert. I can't take anymore of her!

Lol! I think my favorite "borrowed" symbol is the Jesus fish. Erm... you know you have a vagina on your car, right?

One of my coworkers was complaining about how another coworker said happy holidays to a patient, and Jesus is the reason for the season, and blah, blah, blah. I just had to stand there and giggle to myself, because I'm pagan, and think it's hilarious that Christians use multiple pagan symbols, never even questioning their origin. Merry Yule, y'all!

Jesus H. I wouldn't wish my XMIL on my worst enemy, and here I've cursed my children to have her for a grandmother. She called DS22 in a big emergency to bring DGD1 over to visit her. Over an hour away, at a moment's notice. He said no, he had to work. So he made a plan to head over that way and visit relatives that live over there on the weekend. He gets there, and she's got her crack-head (literally, the man does crack and just got paroled from prison) XBF back living with her. He's told her a hundred times he doesn't want DGD1 around the guy, and she supposedly had broken up with him anyway. So he drove his family all the way over there and visited everyone BUT her. The one having the fit that she needed to see the baby. Also- DS tried to get her to come to dinner at her sister's house without the BF and she refused. She's a nightmare.

Jesus, I wish someone would ensconce ME in a comfy chair with some pain pills. And a blankie. And the remote. And perhaps tacos. And my dog. And a taco for him too.

One of my friends from high school went on a fb rant about how she just can't believe how few of her friends posted #metoo, and how she knew that some of us (me) had experienced sexual assault and sexual harassment. I know that #metoo is meant to unify people who've been assaulted, harassed, etc, but Jesus. I'm not discussing the times I've been assaulted by men on social media. I get that some people heal and cope by sharing their story, but I'm not there yet.

And who decides whether alcohol and/or weed is a "bad" thing? You? You get to be the moral arbiter of what is bad or good? Are you Jesus? Interested to know what the standards are for being good or bad, especially as it pertains to weed. Also, what's with the use of "cool"? Nobody over the age of 20 smokes weed because it's "cool", that is such a teenage way of looking at it. People smoke it because they enjoy it and/or because of some benefit it gives them, either medical or otherwise.

I wouldn't risk everything to "get high". But I do smoke for pain relief (I don't work in a job that tests) for a chronic condition. Without it there's no way I could do my job. I could switch to codeine, they are effective but as my condition will be with me for life I would sooner or later end up hooked on them. So it's either risk my job or be in too much pain to do it. As it happens I don't work in a job that tests, but I think it's important to realize not everyone smokes to get "high". People are claiming it helps everything these days and no doubt some of these claims will be proven to be bullshit. However, to assume folks are getting high isn't fair. It's the system that's wrong, not the people. It's human rights abuse to deny someone a necessary medication IMO. Especially when many of the alternative meds available have high addiction rates. Jesus, look what happened with fentanyl.
