"What do you need?" "I'm going to the store, can I get you anything?" "Last time I made spaghetti, I froze an extra meal. What would be a good time for me to drop it by your house?" I guess you have to be from the South to know what to say. It's ingrained in us from the time we were little kids watching Mama and Grammaw doing it.

I dont know why i dont like to stay in Pune. May be i feel little dumb and insecure around these people. I loved to stay in South Africa. I want that lifestyle back in my life. Having lots of time but the unlikeliness is eating my head and cant focus on my goal. Stack of pending work is raising. Need someone who be my good friend and help me in taking decision.

Southerners always bring food for any life event - having a baby, someone sick, someone dying. Too bad we're so stupid.

Mil went on and on about how vital to my whole life it is for me to try a beignet. How I'll never appreciate it because I'm not from New Orleans, like she is, but I need to try it anyway. She's a Southern belle and grew up eating them and only people from New Orleans truly love them and blahblittyblah. She's right, I don't appreciate them. I mean, it was good, but come on. It's a doughnut with powdered sugar that we waited in line for a half hour for. Whoopity doo!

I live in the South too. People here aren't nearly as nice as they like people to think they are. They are also much more petty, shallow, fake, and passive aggressive. It's all about appearances, not about actually being nice.

In the South, we are courteous and no one would mind pushing the elevator button for someone else. Also we hold doors of stores open for whoever is behind us going in or out. It is just normal. But of course, we are all too stupid to know any better.

Another reason why I won't leave Southern California. .. In n Out Burger! Animal fries easy sauce? Yes please. Some people here think they are overrated and prefer Five Guys or even McD's, that's okay, more for me!

High taxes, crime, smog, traffic, etc you name it, I ain't leaving it. I grew up in Southern California, I love it here. i love the beach and I couldn't live in middle of America no where close to the polluted ocean. Nothing wrong with the country or mountains or desert, i prefer the ocean. Although I can still visit the mountains or desert just couple hours drive from Los Angeles. (Even though we are desert now, thanks drought!)

All of South Florida is now a hell hole. Too many people, awful traffic, everything expensive, property taxes are horrendous because roads and schools must be built for the millions of illegals who live there now. Sometimes I'd go out for errands and shopping and not hear English spoken all day long except by a cashier maybe. I couldn't wait to leave and I won't go back even though I still have family there. When I left I was paying $2200 a year in taxes for a 1200 s.f. condo with no garage in a PUD. Monthly HOA dues were about $400 a month. I grew up there.
