I didn't say anything to her, and I won't. I just worry because I know how bad for you those types of foods are and I know how it can snowball because of the chemicals they put in that stuff. I honestly just want her to be healthy. It's not about her size, it's about what she's eating and what it might do to her body. If she were always this size, I wouldn't worry. It's the relatively sudden change. And whether we like it or not, body size is an indicator. But then again.... covid. I think everybody is dealing with it differently. I can't help it, I will always worry about the health of my kids. She doesn't live with me any more and I feel a little out of control because I don't know what's going on with her like I used to. I think it's a normal reaction for a parent. I hope. It's hard, letting go.

I'm so mad. DH qualifies for the COVID vaccine because he's fat. I'm not fat and not old, so I don't qualify even though I'm an essential worker and have to be onsite for work. DH is meanwhile laid off and still gets the shot before me. I asked my doctor if there's any way I can get in the group DH is in so I can get vaccinated too and she said "Well, most non-overweight people are kids and they seem to not have a bad reaction, so you probably won't either". What the actual hell??

My husband is really just a walking paycheck at this point. He's not unpleasant or a bad guy, but he's just sort of there. He doesn't really contribute much else. He helps out around the house but isn't really engaged. He's basically just a good roommate. I stay because there is no way I could afford to live in this school district and give my kids the opportunities they have on just my salary or if we got divorced. But once the kids are out of school, I make no guarantees. It's a community property state, so I may just take my 1/2 of everything and move on.

I've been trying to focus on gaining weight but since I'm so underweight right now, my weight all goes to weird spots when I gain it. I know I need to just push through it and it'll redistribute but man, this sucks so bad.

One of our dogs has serious health issues, he's in a lot of pain, and he weighs 130lbs. We send him to visit 'grampa' (FIL) all the time because he gets too stressed out if he's around our other dogs too long. He'll get snippy and fight-y with them or hurt himself trying to play. DH and FIL and I know how to act around him. If we didn't he'd probably bite us. FIL let the neighbor kids come over and play with him and he bit the 12yo. Not bad enough to consider putting him down, but OMG I wish that man would listen to what we tell him. About anything. Ever. Big guy's NOT the kind of dog you let kids pet or play with. He's just not.

My mom's dog, who hasn't been aggressive previously, chased down my ds5 and bit his leg badly enough to need stitches. He wasn't even anywhere near the dog. I found out it's bitten 3 other kids, not as badly, in the last week. My brothers are claiming it just needs training and that mom *needs* the dog, my dh wants it put down, and my mom says she just wants the dog gone, but my brothers won't listen. My ds5 won't go anywhere near our dogs now and he's showing some signs of trauma, not surprisingly. Idk how to help my ds. Have any of you dealt with this kind of thing?

I was with my dh for 30 years before he decided he didn't want to be married anymore, and we're still amicable. (He didn't leave me for anyone and said he'll never remarry). We had a great marriage and partnership which felt like teamwork raising our little family and pets together and everything that went along with being in a marriage... the fun times, the hard times, good and the bad, extended family, maintaining our home, vacations, celebrations, etc. I loved being married and wish I still were. And the only reason I'll never remarry is because I never want to go through a divorce again. And you can't guarantee that it won't happen. I've read here more than once someone saying, "do it right the first time". That's ridiculous and laughable. There's absolutely no way to make sure a relationship is bulletproof. I would have wagered mine was.

I hate living in a tourist town that also has a military base and I have 4 schools and 3 hospitals within a 2-mile radius. I live on a main road, but it's towards the edge of town. I have issues with sound. I don't like too much noise. I've lived here a year, and there were times I had to take a trip just to escape the noise. The windows on this house suck. If someone is standing out on the sidewalk, I can hear them fart. All day I hear sirens, muscle cars racing/peeling out, cars with thumping basses that I can feel vibrating my couch, drunk people yelling, trucks, military planes and helicopters flying just above the trees right over my house. It wasn't so bad during the peak of Covid and many people were home. Nothing drowns it out. It's 24/7. I work from home. I'm going insane.

House sale update: Buyer agreed to the $2k allowance today! From what I was told, the VA loan people won't approve a loan if the allowance amount greatly exceeds the estimated repair costs. I hired a contractor to give me an estimate & fix the bathroom subfloor. It turns out it doesn't need to be replaced as the Buyers inspector said, the inspector even said the subfloor to the entire bathroom was soaked. My contractor had a moisture meter, he said it's not bad, it's just damp, and it'll dry out. He sent pics and it's only about a 7-inch radius around the toilet pipe. I saved myself a lot of money. Now I only have to pay $100 to fix the leak and the small piece of wood rot on the front porch. Our contract that the Buyer signed says to only fix the wood rot, but I still want to fix the toilet so they can use it as soon as they move in. Not sure when we're closing (it was supposed to be tomorrow), hopefully by Friday.
