If you're considering step parenting, here is what happens. Men get dumped by their ex-wives for bad behavior - adultery, bipolar, failure to support or whatever. Man's ego is hurt. Man transfers all his neediness to his kids, who build up his ego again (maybe). Man makes daughter the focus of all the other-sex feelings that were previously focused on wife. (SEE COVERT INCEST.) He can control a young kid like he never controlled his wife. No other woman will ever be as wonderful in his eyes as his daughter. Eventually he starts calling daughter his one true love or something like that. You do not want to even try to have a permanent relationship with this man. You can never measure up to his daughter.

My shit house crazy brother is convinced that he is a psychic medium that gets visions and can see the past and the future. My concern is he will think he can "know" what machine will pay off and decide to go to the casino. He had a gambling problem in the past that had come out of nowhere but I don't think he's doing it currently. Bipolar and something undiagnosed. Wonderful combination.

I think I've had a really huge breakthrough. I've been dealing with a myriad of mental issues for more than half of my life. Bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder. I am pretty sure the root of everything is obsessive thoughts. When I think back to somewhat recent "events," they've all begun by rampant obsession over nothingness. Now that I have discovered my "trigger," I think I can finally recover fully. The only thing to do now is overcome obsession.

I have bipolar disorder (refuse to say I *am* bipolar since I am so much more than my diagnosis) and I absolutely hate my manic spells. I also have obsessive tendencies and instead of being super clean and neat during mania, I just obsess. And I'm so restless, physically and mentally. The end result is a near paralysis where my body is incapable of doing anything and my mind runs every encounter, past present future, real and imagined all at once. It feels like I'm head deep in wet cement and my brain is in a blender on full blast. I am not currently in therapy or on meds but I feel great, I have not been depressed in over a year and my mania been easily contained. Keeping busy with work/housework and meditation/yoga is working well for me, right now. I know it's not realistic to rely on these to keep me "sane" but for now, it's enough. I was on high doses of abilify, lamictal and risperdol for a while and I think maybe that "shocked" my system a bit for temporary relief.

My DH is bipolar and during the summer, he naturally gets more manic because of the daylight being longer and it being warmer outside. He is almost addicted to being manic because he claims he can get more done. I confess, I'm sort of jealous of all the energy he has when he's manic, but he has been cutting back on his mood stabilizers, which scares me. I'm not sure if I should call his psychiatrist or not...I don't think it's really my business, but at the same time, he gets more irritable and cranky when he isn't taking his meds properly.

Feel myself rapid cycling (I am Bipolar). Told my psychiatrist and he wasn't real concerned about it. I also told him I thought about cutting myself several days this week. He wasn't worried about that either. Might be time to find another psychiatrist.

I'm sick to death of my DH on the weekends. Either he has tons of energy and spends the entire time in the garage working on his toys and ignoring me or he spends the entire day sleeping and/or napping. I mean, why bother even being married? I know he's bipolar, but he's driving me fucking crazy by totally ignoring me most of the time.

I had been attempting to avoid it like the plague and I don't know why, but I finally forced myself to get my daughter, 6 years old, (our family too) into therapy. I have blamed myself too hard for my daughter's recent behavior, yet not done much to try to change it. I know I am an intellgient woman, child development degree and all. Yet when it came to my own kin, I couldn't do it myself. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about 9 years ago. My daughter's doctor said it seems like she is having childhood anxiety. Not only that, but my daughter expresses such sensory issues that may be related to that. My daughter is such a bright student, but at home she breaks down and tantrums several times a day. She expresses such low self esteem and sadness for a child to experience so early on. I need to stop worrying about where what went wrong. I'm excited but nervous for the positive change this may bring. I don't want my daughter to feel like I did growing up.

DH is so careless and irresponsible I no longer trust him to walk the dog. She has gotten away from him a couple times because he either didnt have a grip on her leash or did not put her harness on properly. Its a dogs harness, its not fucking rocket science. What an idiot. At least he apologized this time (his usual answer is "its not my fault" followed by some lame excuse) I told him I will walk the dog or let her out from now on. She is small and puppy pad trained. He still needs to see someone about his bipolar disorder.
