Pet peeves from dating site: #1 He is looking for a woman who will leave her home and go with him in an RV to travel the US. She will do the laundry and cooking. He will bring HIS 3 dogs and drive. I've heard this 3 times from diff guys. #2 He says he's 5'9" and he's barely 5'7". #3 He rants on about politics thru the whole date. #4 We just met and ate lunch and I have to walk all the way back to my car with his arm draped over my shoulders. Too familiar too fast! #5 We carry on an earnest email conversation about what's important to us and about 3 weeks into it he asks me to send him a nude pic when we've never even discussed sex. Internet dating brings comedy to my life!

Here is why I like dogs better than cats. Cats feel no remorse whatsoever when they do something naughty. My cat barfed up a hairball on my sheets today and basically doesn't care. My dog, who very rarely has an accident, had diarrhea once and accidentally pooped by the door and she was like, sorry for a week.

I can never forget the dumbest thing I ever said: Friend: "I really want a Saint Bernard, such great dogs with nice coats!" Me: "That's ridiculous! Saint Bernards don't wear coats!" OMG........

My NYRs are pretty doable. Be kind, write more, pet more dogs, do more yoga, get laid, be the kind of weirdo who inspires other weirdos. Bring it on, 2018!

Too cute--my niece asked me if I had an Elf on the Shelf (I don't have kids). I told her I don't, because my dog is always on the "nice" list. She really is--never steals food, never pees/poops in the house, doesn't bark incessantly, stays off the furniture, doesn't get in the trash. My niece asked what my dog wanted for Christmas this year and I said she would probably like some new toys. My niece was amazed and said "Dogs like TOYS?? Toys like mine?" They don't have a dog and it cracked me up. I told her that my dog's favorite toys are her stuffed animals and my niece said she should get some stuffed animals from Santa for being a good girl this year. So today I went and bought my dog a few new stuffed animals for her Christmas present--she deserves it and I don't have to put up with any stupid elf on the shelf.

I said my dog is fine around runners. But it's not a great idea to run really quickly near any dog, even if they are normally calm. If you scare them or startle them or step on their paw, they can freak out. When I run, I give dogs a bit of clearance just in case they move in front of me and I would trip over them/step on them, etc. It's always a good idea to be courteous of other people using the sidewalk. And I do try to move over for runners, but some of them just insist on running right by me. Hell, they almost run ME over, let alone my dog. Of course if my dog were aggressive towards runners, I would not walk with her where she could be near them.

Yeah, no. Your dog is your responsibility. I have 2 dogs, one is great on trails and the other was rescued from a woman who had 4 dogs in a 1 bedroom apartment and didn't exercise them. When I take them out, I make sure I'm aware of all individuals on the trail and the one that isn't great (she's not aggressive, but she will cry and bark and jump around if someone sneaks up.. And she is part pit so she looks aggressive), I move myself in between her and the person/animal and I move both of us far off trail. Even if the person is technically in the wrong, you'll be to blame if you cannot physically keep your dog from attacking someone in public.

Every time I walk with my dog, I notice that there are a lot of runners who run towards me and dash right by my dog's head. As a dog owner, can I please tell you that if you are a runner and you do that--don't do it! My dog happens to be non-reactive to runners and they don't bug her much and she won't snap at their legs, but not all dogs are like that! Whenever I run and I see someone with a dog, I move to the grass or the street so I'm away from the dog.

DH told me yesterday that men really don't like smart women for wives. He actually admitted to me that the only reason he was attracted to me was because I was smarter than him but only "in some areas". I'm like, WTF? He also said that when it comes to his friends, their wives are much "ditzier" than I am and apparently they all think it's great because their wives just do whatever they say. No wonder so many of my insanely smart female friends are either married to geniuses or single with a lot of cats and dogs. Oh, and I know I'm smarter than DH in most areas. He is better with fixing cars than I am, but that's only because I don't care much to learn more about that. If I wanted to, I could fix any car he could. I'm seriously pissed at him right now.

That's pretty common in small dogs & groomers usually are able to express them. I wonder if they'd work with your cat.
