Op again, responding to the comment. I'm still with him because up until I went out to dinner with my friend he made me happy. I was perfectly ok with spending the one night my mom would definitely babysit with him every weekend, I enjoyed inviting him out on Sunday's to spend time with ds and I. Sure, there were small irritations here and there. But then he gets super mad and suddenly feels neglected the one time I go out to dinner with someone else and ask my mom to babysit because he didn't get the same amount of time with me the following night. It's not like I turned down going out with other people to spend time with him before, I don't have a very active social life... so I didn't realize until then how clingy and controlling he could be, how little he listens to my problems... but even when he made me happy, I knew this wasn't going to be a forever kind of relationship. It's not what I want right now.

It sucks being stuck! My car died so we bought another I knew better than making a joint purchase. Last night for the 3rd time I was told it is his car! After he started another argument over nothing. So I told him fine you pay for it, I will buy my own and move out! Oh no don't do that! The day after we bought it everything I do is wrong, I suddenly have to check in. If I don't arrive home from work in 5 minutes I get yelled at. But I'm grouchy. (I can't imagine why) I can't do anything without getting screamed at! I'm tired of being screamed at! I hate coming home!!! I need to stash money and get out but it takes forever to save the money. I just want one day of quite! We are obviously over. He's up to something a switch doesn't flip without a reason!

I remember a British comedian coining the term "twunt" which is a nice combo of the two best vulgar terms I can think of. He will forever be Donald Twunt to me. Of course, a twunt is much more useful than a Trump.

Op here, I kind of lost track of this. As someone who has been married, I still think marriage is a big deal. But in all honesty it's not it the end of the world if things don't work out. I see places all the time offering "quickie" divorces & I'm not some pariah because I'm divorced. Also, there's no telling what kind of engagement they'll have... maybe they'll break up before actually getting married or just stay engaged forever. I was trying to get him not to ruin something she's excited to tell everyone (like my family did to me) and he not only ignored the advice he asked for, he tried to act like I didn't know what a big deal marriage is...

I'm actually the one that has been hesitant about marriage. He told me a couple years ago that he wanted me to be his wife, even started referring to me as his wife to other people. My last marriage was traumatizing, it led me to have a bad outlook on marriage. He does want me to move with him, but I have a life here. I bought a house not that long ago and spent so much money remodeling it into my forever home, if I sold it I'd be out about $50-$60k. And I don't trust renters. I don't want to move. I believe he said it because he knows I don't want to leave my home. He's a good man, and I do know him better to know that he doesn't want to spend life without me. He offered to switch his plans and not change his career so we can stay together here. I just can't decide on what to do.

That's a crappy situation, no matter which way you spin it. Can your dh have a talk with his daughter about why this is hurtful to you? About how there's really no going back to a happy relationship with you after shunning you from her wedding? She's a grown woman. I understand she wants to please her mom, but she isn't a child. Either way, I suppose I would do whatever she wants, since it's her wedding, but it would forever wreck my relationship with her. At the end of the day, it's ultimately her decision, but your dh needs to make it known that it's extremely fucked up. And there's no way I would leave town. She's a bride, not the queen of the world.

If you have any evidence that heaven is real, or that our energy "goes on," I'd love to hear it. When you cut a flower, is it dead forever, or does its spirit live on? How are you different than a flower? You live and then you die. Your body decomposes. That's it. Graveyards are full of forgotten people. We are all small in this universe.

Ugh, I feel so bad asking for references for people I haven't spoken to in forever. My former boss is amazing, so I hope she won't think too negatively of all the times I had to ask in my recent job search.

I'm going to my first cosplay event in a week. I'm really scared and nervous. I got my outfit from the thrift store, and it isn't perfect, but I'm hoping it will pass muster. I've heard cosplayers can be really cruel, but I'm hoping that's just mean gossip. I've wanted to do this forever. If it goes well, I want to go to comic con next. Really getting out of my shell with this. It's taking a lot off effort.

I contacted him. :( I was in a really bad place, and just wanted any kind of contact with him at all. We had a pretty long text exchange, where he apologized a lot for being immature and blocking me. He also sort of admitted to leading me on when we were together. I asked for clarification on that, and he hasn't written me back. I said he didn't have to, and that I would go away forever if he would just SAY that's what he wants, and he's not replied at all. I'm glad I contacted him, though I know I shouldn't have. I would have worked myself up into an even worse place if I'd let it be. I also feel really proud that I could see through the crap he was telling me. I *know* he's not the man I thought he was. I might actually get the closure I needed.
