Get another doc to help you. And/or put a light coat of mustard on your nipple, he won't like the taste of being nursed. Sorry mom, how frustrating.

My 14mo goes batshit crazy when I try to stop breastfeeding. I've tried every kind of bottle and cup I can find. I've tried regular and chocolate milk cold, hot, and room temp. He will not drink juice or water either. I left him with my mom for several hours one day, and he drank nothing the entire time I was gone. He still nurses every 2 hours at night also. I am so over it, and his pediatrician is no help, tbh. She just keeps telling me he needs to stop, but he won't, and I'm scared he will get dehydrated.

My cousin is in the hospital. She fell in her house and couldn't get up. The fact is that she has a hoarding problem, and she was trapped. A nurse came to speak with us in the hospital and referred her to a company that would clean things out. I also recommended she get help from a personal organizer to help her stay on track, but she waved my suggestion away. She is a very intelligent woman, and her hoarding is a symptom of mental illness. I have empathy for her situation, but I am also frustrated with her. She told the social worker the house was a mess because she was depressed over her mother being ill, but she has always been a hoarder! The house will not be ready when she gets out of the hospital. I will help deal with the cleaning company but I will not have her come stay with me. She thinks the house will be ready in two days when she is released. Really, it should be burned down! That's how bad it is! I wish I wasn't the one everyone counts on. Find a hotel!

So I'm freaked out, had my first abnormal Pap smear ever. She said it was negative for hvp, which is good. I did have BV at the time but dr said that shouldn't affect my results. The only thing I could think that might have affected the results was that I did use monistat 2 days prior to the Pap because I thought it was a yeast infection. I also had sex 4-5 times the previous week (very rare for dh and I to do it that much). The nurse said she wouldn't worry, recheck in 6 months, but of course I sit here worrying like a damn fool.

I remember that poop site from years ago. There was a story on there about a woman giving birth to a HUGE poop. It was in a hospital and all the nurses were apparently talking about the poop the size of a baby.

I got an interview for a job where I work. I work in surgical services as medical support staff, but I finished nursing school in December and passed my boards in March and applied for a position in the OR last week. I'm so excited! It was my goal in school to get a job as a surgical nurse. I applied for other positions, but I guess it can take a month to get a response because new graduate applications make the rounds through all the departments. I really want this job though. Fingers crossed.

I've worked with so many nurses like this over the years. They don't last long, at least in a clinical setting. Hopefully your dil can find something on the administrative end.

Meh. My mom's nurse comments don't bother me anymore. I've been a RN for almost twenty years now, so the piss and vinegar went out of me years ago. And while it absolutely is a hard job, and nursing school was really challenging, I would never compare my career to that of a physician. Especially nowadays, with the ridiculous demands that hospitals put on their doctors. I get to work my shift and leave. They work from 7-6 in the office seeing patients and then go straight to the hospital to round. There's a reason they make the big bucks.

Just a nurse?? That's like saying someone is just a doctor. I finished in December and the last 2.5 years have been the most difficult of my life.

My mom is like this, too. She'll say she's proud of me for being at my job for so long, and then talk trash about how I'm just a nurse. She never went to college and wasn't supportive of me at all. Yeah, it's jealousy. She regrets her own life and I'm her punching bag. It sucks. Good luck with your interview, hope it goes well for you!
