What is a good age to expect kids to start behaving like actual people in a restaurant?? My niece and nephew are 8 and 9 and still act like total hellions in every restaurant they eat in. I'm talking like, running around, playing with their food, dumping their drinks out, yelling, disturbing other people, etc. It's to the point where we can't go out to dinner with my sister and her DH because the kids are so obnoxious. I feel like they are old enough to know how to behave in a restaurant.

Omg my mil does this! I think it's so gross. Like, no, crazy lady pantyhose, I'm not eating off your damn plate. And when we have leftovers from a restaurant, she'll scrape them all onto one plate and microwave them together so we can all share. Ya nasty!!! I don't kiss you on the mouth, I'm not eating your half eaten meal.

She drives me crazy. She offers something from her plate at restaurant or at a meal at her house. When I decline she keeps offering and trying to persuade me. I have a digestive disease and other issues that require me to eat healthy. I'm not a picky eater but can't eat a lot of things, including junk food. She knows about my health problems but relentlessly keeps at it. She seems to think she's just being polite. So far I'm staying good natured but this tests me to the limit. I just want my boundaries respected!

Why don't you mind your business when you see a kid drinking soda in a restaurant. Worry about your own bad habits, of which I'm sure you have a few.

Nothing is more gross than seeing a child eating breakfast in a restaurant washing it down with a glass of soda. Stupid parents need to say "No" and then they wonder why their kids are turning into little chunkers. [Submitted Anonymous]

I've been losing weight steadily, but any time I eat out I gain a pound back, and all I'm ordering are salads. I know that restaurant salads are more dressing and topping laden than homemade salads, but damn. 3500 calories supposedly equals one pound, and a cheeseburger and fries is roughly 1200 calories. There is nothing in that salad that is equivalent to three times that! It sucks. I want to get out of the house sometimes. I have been so disciplined. I even gave my husband half of the salad, and I still gained a pound back. :(

"If you're making money off of someone else's ideas or techniques, and not compensating them, crediting them, or even asking permission, it's not cool." I wonder how many people see something on Pinterest, or a DIY show, or any number of how-to websites, and then create that item and sell it? Should they put stickers on the items saying where they got the idea? There's a man in our community who is 100% Italian. He lived in Louisiana for 5 years, during which time he learned how to cook Creole from neighbors and friends. When he moved back here, he opened a Creole restaurant. He loved the food and wanted to share it with the community. Should we start a campaign to shut him down for cooking food not of his culture and using recipes that are not his?

I wasn't talking about the restaurant in Oregon. I'm talking specifically about style. So, everyone should stick their "own kind" in terms of what they wear or the music they like? When you see a person walking down the street, you don't know what they were thinking about when they got ready for their day. You "sigh" and say it isn't about taste. What was the point of that? How does thinking people have the right to dress however they want to equate me with being a Trump supporter? You are incredibly judgmental with your assumptions about people, however I can't say I was surprised by your "it's not my job to explain" type of response, because that's what people who are full of BS tend to say. So, carry on with your sighs and your catch phrases.

Hold up. So two white chicks from Oregon went on vacation to Mexico, stole recipes from a local restaurant/taco stand, then came back to Oregon and opened a taco stand using said recipes. I get that. Shitty thing to do. BUT: How would a restaurant owner in Mexico have even known this happened in Oregon? And why would they even care? It's not like they're sharing a market or in competition with one another. I mean, I get that it's the principle of the thing with them stealing (and they deserve whatever they get for that) but come on. Was it a moneygrab? I find that ultimately, most things are. The principle of the thing is typically NOT enough for someone to litigate. And Christ on a cracker, who cares who wears what earrings or hairstyle? Why is this a thing? Why does anyone care?

Well, we left the house at 1:15 and went for a motorcycle ride. DSD texted me at 3:05 and said she was in our driveway. I replied that we were at a riverside restaurant with friends in a town 40 miles away. She asked if she should wait for us to get home (?) and I replied that we wouldn't be home any time soon. Ten minutes passed and though she used her standard flowery language, the bottom line was she needed $150. I replied, 'Sorry. No can do.' Haven't heard a word since.
