I miss my own homestate (California), right now living in Europe and although it's lovely here-it isn't home. California has a lot wrong with it but there is something right about it. I miss the rudness, the smog, unbearable heat, traffic jams, the smell of Mexican BBQ from my dad's grill, the smell of my grandma's laundry when it's hanging in the backyard, the scent of the trees and soil that can't be copied anywhere else. I miss it all. I have visited other states-the people from the South were nothing but friendly to me, Hawaii has its own beauty but I miss the dirtiness of Los Angeles.

We live in southern AZ and there's the Grand Canyon Railroad, which I've heard great things about. It irks me that I mentioned going on it to a coworker, and she said that we really shouldn't go on it unless we have kids (DH and I don't and don't plan to) because the railroad is better with kids and we should wait and not go unless we have them. Are you kidding me? I couldn't believe she said that shit to me.

I was raised in a small southern town where 99.9% of the people are Christian. I never understood why people hated Christians. I thought everyone else was the problem because that is what I was told. I didn't how realize how simple minded I and everyone I knew actually were until I moved away. Sometimes I feel so embarrassed about my thoughts and feelings about certain things when I was 19 and younger. So glad I was able to move away and expand my knowledge on many things. Now not every Christian is horrible but I understand why everyone has their opinions about them. No matter what you believe I think the arrogance in their views is what irritates everyone. Most people understand others have different views but when someone is arrogant it just pisses you off especially when their mind is so simple and ignorant.

I work for an oil and gas company and we found out about a month ago that they are selling the natural gas asset where I work (think of and asset like a company division). The only other assets in the US that will most likely be able to accept transfers are either in west/east/south Texas (which I have zero interest in), or the Rockies (very interested in), so if I want to stay with the company, I'm going to have to move cross-country to transfer. Rockies management have expressed their interest in creating a position for me, so things are looking good for an eventual transfer there. I would most likely be somewhere in Colorado. I have never lived out of the northeast, but DH and I are looking forward to it and see it as an adventure. Does anyone here have any pros/cons to living in Colorado? Not that it'll sway my decision, since there are pros/cons to everything, but I'd rather know the good and bad now than find out the hard way once I get there.

There's this girl I'd want to be, she's not really famous, she's not widely known but she's a musician and she tours like all the time. She is hired by local bands as a back up but somehow she stays busy and is touring all the time esp in the south, southeast, and sometimes the Caribbean. She does hair modeling too, she has deals with like drum and guitar pic companies as their spokes models. I knew her mother from a photo site, so I don't really know her but I see her FB, Instagram, etc. She seems to have a very cool life. Just traveling, playing on stage, she's gorgeous, has a ton of friends, carefree, great job, but not so famous that she would be bothered by paparazzi or it would be weird, you know fake friends, problems, etc. Everyone seems to love her. She has fun everyday, plays on the beach, sight-sees in the day then plays drums at night on state, sees these amazing places, not a care in the world. I would trade places with her in a second.

I read a story about a girl in south america who stuck a potato in her vagina for contraception. Long story short...it took root and had to be surgically removed.

Maybe should get rid of Louisiana too. Paying for Hurricane Katrina cost too much, and people are still getting benefits, plus the elected mayor of New Orleans stole a lot. And it is in the South, so they're a bunch of no good ignorant slobs. Except for the good Muslims. And I guess the A-A's because you can never say anything bad about them. So let's move them all to Michigan, if we don't get rid of Michigan, and they can be Northerners.

I've suspected before that my mil is a covert narcissist but I think her behavior has more to do with familial socialization. She was created and then maintained. Her mother raised her to be a southern belle (presented to society at a debutante ball. I'm not bashing the south) and spoiled her rotten. She literally has never had to deal with a woman in her immediate family, other than her mother. No sisters, no daughters, not even a sil. She had a doting husband and raised her sons to put her up on a pedestal. She hides behind the facade of being a good, sweet Catholic but is a tyrant when she isn't the center of attention. Now that her sons are focusing on their own families, she is behaving like a bratty child. Even bad attention is still attention. It's freaking exhausting, even from 1000 miles away.

I want the wall. I don't care who builds it. It should be just like the one Mexico has on its southern border to keep illegals out of their country.
