I don't know where to turn or who to talk to about my sadness, emptiness and loneliness. Those closest to me know some of it, but not all. I don't take my antidepressants anymore. They stopped working and I don't want to take pills anymore. I believe in God, I am grateful and thankful for all I have, but can't escape the feelings. I stopped going to see my therapist too, as I could only see her once a month. I'm 48 years old, still job hunting, living with but separated from dh for awhile now, and missing a man who broke my heart but wants me back. I might be lonely but will never get back with him. I'm in the middle of the storm and am praying I get out of it. I sometimes wish I could fall asleep and never wake up. Can you pray for me if you're a praying person? Thank you.

Married my high school sweetheart at 18 and divorced him at 22. Passed up a scholarship to become a pharmacist to marry a Marine and move 1000 miles from home. Stayed single for ten years then married again. Quit my good job, sold my house, got in my car and followed him to Arizona. Lived in several states for five years then moved home and bought a house. We have grown kids, grown grandkids and a great grandkid. I’ll be 63 in a week and I’ve realized that everything I’ve done in my life was for someone else’s benefit. Kinda makes me sad; kinda pisses me off.

So there's this woman I'm acquainted with who is probably mid twenties. We have a few mutual friends and we're friends on facebook. She's nice, a real sweetheart. But there's one thing: her eyebrows! She plucks them so they start at the center of her eyes instead of where a brow would normally begin, more toward the center of the face and it just looks so weird! No one says anything they act like it's normal so I do too....but I'm just over here like, "Are we really not gonna talk about this?"

The brother of one my my daughter's friends died this morning. He was supposed to start his junior year of high school this week. His brother and my daughter are starting their freshman year. I really didn't know him, but his brother is a really great kid and his mom is one of the sweetest people. They are just a really nice family. I don't know what happened; I just know it was at home. I sat in my car and just sobbed because I didn't want to completely lose it in front of my daughter. It's not fair. My heart literally hurts for his parents. I seriously don't think I could live through the loss of one of my kids.

DS is 18. Yes, he's technically an adult, but he's still my responsibility and has to abide by the rules as long as he's under my roof. That being said, yesterday was the first time in his life that I had to ground him, lol. When he first got his license, I used a location tracker. After a while, I laid off so he didn't feel like I was stalking his every move - as long as he let me know when he arrived at his destinations safely. He hasn't been very good with that lately. The other night when he went to a friend's after work (it was 10:30), he said he'd text when he got there. It's 10 minutes away. At 20 minutes I sent a text. After 10 minutes with no response, I got in the car to drive there. Halfway down the road he sends a frantic text that he forgot to hit "send' on his text. Uh huh. Grounded and tracker is back on. There are too many crazy drivers around here and my heart can't take the anxiety.

I haven't seen or spoken to him since he broke up with me in January, we saw each other in February when he wanted to reconcile and I told him to never contact me again. He called me tonight wanting to talk. We text each other, then talked for 3 hours on the phone. He wants me back, but I don't trust him. He didn't cheat on me, just broke up with me because of distance, our communication and my smoking. We did disagree about my smoking, but never had issues with the other 2 things. I'm not sure I should give him another chance to break my heart again? Have you ever been dumped and the guy wants you back not once, but twice and it works out? Should I just move on?

I’m the OP of the DH who lied about smoking. It broke my heart that he had lied every day for a year, and I was contemplating where our marriage was headed. Then we had family come in to visit for a few days and he was the perfect host. I then had a severe blood sugar event, and he took over like a pro. I heard him say that life wouldn’t be worth living if something ever happened to me. Kinda put things in perspective. As someone here mentioned, this isn’t the hill I want my marriage to die on.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't realize this at all. They think they can eat whatever they want, as long as they go for a walk later, take their cholesterol medicine, and make a halfhearted attempt at following the latest fad diet. They're stunned when they either don't lose weight, or the weight immediately comes back. My patients are usually sad to learn that they need to consistently do 30 minutes of purposeful exercise everyday AND eat a healthy balanced diet in order to have a healthy body.

Dear OP, you are right to be worried, you should get your DH to the doctor ASAP! You will not be looking at 40 years of crappy sex, more likely 2-5 years before your DH has a heart attack / stroke. ED can have several reasons but the main reason is arteriosclerosis – meaning that the arteries are already clogging up and your DH is on the fast track for a heart attack / death by heart attack. The blood veins in the penis are the smallest/fines within the body, so it is actually a very good indicator for arteriosclerosis. There some very conclusive studies, showing if the ED resulted from arteriosclerosis that a heart attack within the next 5 years is a very high probability – and that if it is caught / treated in the beginning, it can still be turn it around. Please, please look into this and do not take it lightly.

Well, I’m eating a healthy helping of crow today. My dad, who I’ve been complaining about dragging his feet in the move and hoarding, called me the night before last and said his feet were so swollen he couldn’t walk. I’ve known of this problem and he’s been tested for every heart disease known to man. But I wasn’t aware of the extent of the swelling. It is horrific!! I took one look and loaded him up in my car and took him to the ER. Four and a half hours later they sent him home with a new diuretic script. I’m now in full mode Daddy’s Girl and am calling a vascular doctor to get to the bottom of it.
