I don't feel I should have to cover my tattoos to make judgemental people happy. I'd rather lose their business than bow down to them. They're entitled to their opinion and to take their business elsewhere, but they have to learn to live with the fact that more people have them than not. I follow a youtuber who is covered in them, she went to Japan and had a hard time getting into gyms to work out. She had to be covered head to toe, if one was showing even a little bit, they'd kick her out.

A lady doesn't want to do business with me because I have tattoos on my arms. We talked online for a while, she was all excited because I'm exactly what she's looking for. She drove 2 hours round trip to see me in person to discuss things further and deal with payment. The look on her face when she saw my arms (they're not scary/inappropriate tattoos) was disgust and then scared. She was here for 2 minutes. And within minutes of her leaving she suddenly doesn't need my services. I respect her choice and her reasoning, but it stings a little sometimes when people are judgemental.

I really don't think she's being dramatic. I understand where the OP is coming from. I'm around her age and my LTR ended 2 years ago. I still think about him every so often, but I wonder how much Is guilt that I'm carrying on top of pre-existing mental health issues that cause overthinking and rumination. I am working on practicing self-forgiveness about how things ended. I'm human and make mistakes, too.

If it went down seconds later, it was a false reading. Thank God. Patients wonder why I hate automatic cuffs. This is why. They're so damn temperamental. 180/88 is a normal "scared" bp. 245/188 is death. Literally. Hope everything comes out ok!

As someone who dealt with an aging parent who lived in a pigsty and neglected himself, it was an awful ordeal and I feel for you. I got the same kind of advice - "make him come live with you!" etc. You can't force an adult to do anything. I know it was well-meaning advice, but unless someone is deemed mentally incompetent, they have the right to make decisions for themselves, even bad ones.

The right wing doesn't understand free speech. This fuss about Gone with the Wind is ridiculous, especially given that HBO has stated they will bring it back with disclaimers about the portrayal of the black characters. But a private company does not have to allow free speech. Same goes for Youtube. They are companies. People acting like this is 1984 need to sit the fuck down, shut the fuck up and actually READ 1984, which is about governmental control. I read it as a teenager. It's not a difficult book.

Sorry but he sounds like a total idiot. It's not that hard to figure out how grocery store sales work. Especially if he still doesn't get it after multiple explanations--unless he has brain damage or a mental problem.

In mid-April, I made quarantine goals like organize my apartment, focus on healthy eating, keep up with exercise routine, binge on Netflix documentaries, start a creative project, read, etc. While I've done some of those things, what I need to work is on my mental health and start to untangle the dysfunctional relationship I have with my mom and heal from my breakup (next month will be 2 years). I've been avoiding these difficult topics because I've just been in survival mode with changes at home, work, and pandemic. I'm going to turn 37 in July and want to release the overwhelming guilt, burden, and shame that's been with me.

I'm so glad I found your post here! And I'm glad you are doing better. While I am a big advocate to sheltering in place, I also believe that very small physical risks with huge mental benefits are worth it. Good job OP, and I hope things continue to improve for you.

Wow, I have a stalker now? Amazing. I know why I left this place for a while now. People are freaking nuts. What the fuck do you care what I do with my life? My DH is not a completely horrible person and that is why I struggle so much with leaving him. Crazy as that sounds, he does a lot of good things that I don't always post about on here. So yes, I feel confilcted a lot because I also have mental health issues and I know how it is to have your brain just flip out. I remember a woman who was having an affair for a while on here and she also got slammed. Let's face it: NO ONE IS PERFECT. OK??? And we sometimes come on anonymous sites to confess and vent. But from now on, I'll stick to Reddit or Scarymommy where I don't have stalkers trolling me. WTH.
