Someone posted a pic on FB thanking people who have to work today (firefighters, cops, MDs, nurses, 911 operators). What about people in not so glamorous jobs that are stuck working today? Why not thank the ones @ gas stations, drug stores, retail & grocery stores and restaurants? Thank the retail workers whose holiday is f**ed up so greedy shoppers can get their BF deals. The greedy shoppers who probably NEVER have to work a holiday or weekend.

OMFG! Why must you chew your gum and pop it like a freaking cow. Every gosh darn day. It's unprofessional, and so very irritating!!! You're a nurse, the patients don't want to flipping hear that.

OMG, is that what you think? Seriously? You really think Trump supporters are sitting their kids down, showing them the videos of Trump that were splashed around the media, and saying, "Hey boys, it's okay to rape women behind dumpsters! It's okay to discriminate! It's okay to make fun of people!" HOLEE SHIT. Just when I thought nothing else in this world could render me speechless. We have 5 kids ranging from 16-28. The youngest is one of the most respectful kids you'll ever meet, The others are a nurse, an accountant, a police officer and a government contractor. We all voted for Trump. Our two oldest are raising the grandkids exactly how they were raised - with respect, compassion and tolerance. Jesus Christ.

I wish the term partial-birth abortion would become extinct. As an OB-GYN nurse, I can tell you, late term abortions are the absolute last resort for a mother. Those babies are loved and wanted, but something has gone horribly wrong with the pregnancy. Fuck Trump and his bullshit rhetoric about "ripping out" babies. Fucking moron. If you believe his bullshit, you're an idiot.

This is one reason I'm getting out of nursing after 15 years. Patient care comes second to paperwork and corporate bullshit. The patient care techs do the jobs that nurses used to do and I spend all my time charting. It sounds good to say that patient care always comes first, but that isn't the reality anymore. Hospitals only care about money and appearances.

I got to be the first person to babysit! I drove over to visit DS, GF, and the tiny peanut today. As it turns out, GF doesn't have any nursing bras, no decent tops to wear that she can nurse in, and has spent the past week basically naked from the waist up with a robe on. And she hasn't left the house even once since they brought baby home. So I handed DS my keys and my bank card and asked him to take my car up to the store and put gas in it, and suggested that GF go with him just to get some air. And I got to sit in the rocking chair and stare at that baby the whole time they were gone. (only about 20min) :D When I got home I ordered GF some nursing supplies and nursing tanks and a nice grey wrap sweater that she can nurse in. I hope she likes it!

You don't want a sugar daddy, trust me. You want to get yourself into a line of work where you can support yourself and NEVER have to rely on some guy's handouts. If you get hired as a CNA in a nursing home they may pay to put you through nursing school. Does it suck to be a CNA? Yeah, a lot of times it does but you can get your school PAID FOR and if you're a nurse you can go anywhere. That's just one idea, I have others. But don't be a sugar baby, please. It's not a great life.

I started Nurse Jacki last night on Netflix. Big mistake. I'll be binge watching all weekend.

I work for a group of cardiovascular surgeons who encourage their staff to not get the flu shot. My best friend is a nurse too and works for a group of nephrologists. They don't get the flu shot either. It simply isn't as effective as people believe it is and there is a shit ton of empirical research that confirms that. *adjusts tinfoil nursing cap* If you want to get it, that's cool. I really don't gaf. Just don't pretend like the flu shot is on the same level as the polio, smallpox, or MMR vaccines. Whatever though. If you want to be right, you win!
