1) I don't really care. I'm not seeking acceptance. 2) The post I originally responded to about this was in fact about concealed identities. 3) If you are a cashier or bank teller and someone walks in wearing a ski mask, what are you going to do? You're going to call the police or hit the silent alarm button. People generally don't feel safe when the can't see a person's face, hence the fear of clowns or the re-occurring theme (masks) in horror movies. It's the "mask" not the mosque. Again, I did not say burkas should be banned, just that it's not that surprising due the the reasons I stated. BTW, the more "omg's", the better. I mean, this is religion we're talking about.

Yes, my disdain for religion has been established, but that's not really the point I'm trying to make. I went into that because of the priest reference. I didn't say burkas should be banned, however I don't think it's necessarily an excuse for bigotry. As I said, it's about being identifiable. I didn't say it was right. A more accurate comparison would be banning ski masks. It's not the religious aspect. It's the aspect of concealing one's identity. I made the comparison of driving a car without a license plate. If my religion dictated that I should drive a car without a license plate, would that be ok? I realize it's a silly analogy, but it fits. Everyone else is expected to have a license plate on their vehicle, but the police can't run my tag, because I don't have one. Should my religious freedom absolve me of that? I don't think burkas should be banned, but let's face it, lawmakers already dictate our attire. Women aren't allowed to go topless. I don't much difference.

My ex did the nipple-pinching thing too. He knew it hurt and kept doing it any time he wanted. He loved to do it in the car when he was drunk and I was driving. I'd repeatedly tell him to stop but he wouldn't until he passed out. I learned later that this is considered sexual assault. I could have driven straight to the police station and had him arrested. Too bad I didn't, but you could.

OMG, is that what you think? Seriously? You really think Trump supporters are sitting their kids down, showing them the videos of Trump that were splashed around the media, and saying, "Hey boys, it's okay to rape women behind dumpsters! It's okay to discriminate! It's okay to make fun of people!" HOLEE SHIT. Just when I thought nothing else in this world could render me speechless. We have 5 kids ranging from 16-28. The youngest is one of the most respectful kids you'll ever meet, The others are a nurse, an accountant, a police officer and a government contractor. We all voted for Trump. Our two oldest are raising the grandkids exactly how they were raised - with respect, compassion and tolerance. Jesus Christ.

I feel so bad for my neighbor. He shares custody of his 10 y/o dd with his ex-wife and the little girl is being treated for oppositional defiant disorder. Our houses are really close and I can hear everything that goes on when he has her there. He will ask her to pick up her shoes and she will scream and scream. Other neighbours have called the police because of her screaming (as they should, of course). I've never even once heard him raise his voice to her. He's always extremely patient with her. That can't be easy.

She shouldn't have been a cop in the first place. I think cops need more stringent screening. I think police officers should be paid more, but expected to meet higher standards.

The police officer that shot and killed Terence Crutcher has a criminal history. A restraining order was put on her for harassment, has domestic violence citations, and has history of smoking marijuana. But let's not call her a criminal thug menace to society.

I love how people think racism has been obliterated just because water fountains aren't separate anymore. If someone robs a store, and that someone is black, the media reports their race over 80% more than if they were white. Think about it. How many times do you hear, "Two white men approached the clerk..." Now think about how many times you hear, "Two black males approached the clerk..." As a result, we are sort of programmed to believe that blacks commit more crime or are more dangerous. I mean, you never hear about white people doing these things, right? As a result, you get police officers who are so scared of an unarmed college student whose car has broken down, that they panic and shoot them. It all needs to stop.

There may be black on black crime (whatever that means) but that doesn't take away the fact there are college students out there putting on black face and making a mockery of Black Lives Matter, making a mockery of racism, being racist, and simply confirming the BLM movement in general as to why there's a movement to begin with! Please help with this. We need help with denouncing these students/young adults to stop acting so stupid. They need to be put in check. These young adults are in school to become lawyers and doctors and police officers. But no one wants to see that! Just what all the black thugs do. Because that's all we ever are, are just thugs and criminals and deadbeats.

In response to your ignorant statement in regards to Chicago... I notice you say you're sure it's black on black. One can reasonably assume from your blanket statement that you've looked into the systematic racism that has caused the difficult race relations in Chicago. One can assume you know that Chicago is the most segregated large city in America. One can also assume that you know that the impoverished African-American communities are under served and under funded, while poorer white communities are better policed and allocated more tax funds. Another assumption would be that you've looked into the research that indicates that police are much more likely to target African-American's than any other race. There's no way you would be foolish enough to make an uneducated blanket statement otherwise, I'm sure.
