Find What You're Looking For

I work for a state agency. We're changing health plans. Under the new plan, we must go to the doctor once a year for testing or be fined; we must make the changes the doctor suggests or be fined. The fine goes up every year we don't cooperate/make changes. I don't know the specifics yet, but that's the gist that I got from the initial email. I am super healthy, so I'm not really worried, but it still seems like a violation of rights. I'm interested in learning what the parameters are. Can they tell me I workout too much? That I have to go on medication because sometimes I get depressed? Or is it only to suggest exercise or medication or weight loss to address issues of blood pressure or obesity or diabetes? I'm not sure. In my last state, the program was voluntary, and if we participated we got paid. I like the "carrot" method better than this "stick" method so far. My obese colleague looked terrified by this news, however.

I've been overweight my entire life. I've lost about 40 pounds in 5 months. I've struggled with emotional overeating, low-self esteem, and the inability to believe that I could actually achieve any sort of goal. No matter how much I try to elaborate to my mother how much I've damaged myself over the years with my low self-esteem, she can't empathize. She blows me off and thinks that I'm wholly just making excuses for myself. That emotional over-eating or feeling depressed is just me feeling sorry myself. It's so frustrating it makes me want to tear my hair out. I'm not asking you to feel sorry for me. I'm asking for you to understand, instead of blowing me off, because you're personality doesn't line up with mine. She thinks that I should've have lost the weight faster, because I'm joining the military. Well, I've done a hell of a feat, if I do say so myself. I guess it just really hurts that my own mother doesn't care to want to empathize with me.

A huge weight has been lifted. Just got out of a lunch date with the company's owner with a promotion and a very large bonus that she says was years over due and will pay for just about all of the medical debt. My husband, who is a sahd, no longer has to find a job that would need to pay for help for our disabled son and help with bills. We moved in a smaller place and cut out anything that wasn't necessary but still couldn't get by. I am crying so much and by the sounds of it while talking to DH feels relieved as well.

Have been feeling great - lean and thin. Scale is at a weight I appreciate. So what do I do today? Overeat. Awesome.

Today's work out kicked my ass. Ran 3 miles. Did 50 minutes of weight lifting. Biked to a pool and then did 30 minutes of HIIT cardio. I really hope I place in the top 10 for bikini model competition I'm doing next month.

Last fall, almost a year ago now... I started losing weight with no effort due to my job. I ate whatever I want. I was gaining muscle too. It was just falling off. It was amazing. But then I started to stall, and now it sucks because I still need to lose about 20 lbs. My doc says 30 which sort of astonished me, but OK. I guess it's time to adjust my food. Less candy bars, more yogurt. *sigh*.

I saw an infomercial for a piece of exercise equipment with before/after pics. They also had the people's b/a weights. This one lady went from 105 lbs to 93 lbs. Sorry, but am I the only one who is deeply disturbed by this? I weigh just a little more than her starting weight and I am really thin! This whole thing is really messing with my mind--like making me think I need to get myself down to 93 lbs. Grr! It's really pissing me off!

On Oct 1st I will be down 10 lbs from July 1st. Not a ton, but I only need to lose about 25 lbs so I should be down 20 by New Year's and at my goal weight before next spring. It has been a long slow process, but with my aging metabolism and not much weight to lose, I'll take it !!

Cleaned and organized my closet. Felt good to get out my jeggings, leggings, boots and sweaters. Almost time. Also can't wait to wear my long chunky necklaces again. For some reason I never wear them in the summer, I don't like that feel of the weight around my neck.

A Texas woman that is missing weighs 95 pounds (she is 5'4). On one of the posts about her, someone commented "95 pounds, what's up with that?" It pisses me off. If she was 400 pounds, nobody would be saying a damn thing. I commented that her weight has nothing to do with it and if she was obese, nobody would say a word about her weight. BTW...I'm obese!
