Not all Christians are jerks. I am a Christian. I belong to a denomination most people in the US aren't that familiar with (Orthodox Christian). Most people here aren't familiar with it (or have never heard of it) despite it being the second largest and oldest Christian denomination in the world because we don't spend our time on the news talking about homosexuals, Muslims, birth control, etc. We welcome everyone.

I was raised in a small southern town where 99.9% of the people are Christian. I never understood why people hated Christians. I thought everyone else was the problem because that is what I was told. I didn't how realize how simple minded I and everyone I knew actually were until I moved away. Sometimes I feel so embarrassed about my thoughts and feelings about certain things when I was 19 and younger. So glad I was able to move away and expand my knowledge on many things. Now not every Christian is horrible but I understand why everyone has their opinions about them. No matter what you believe I think the arrogance in their views is what irritates everyone. Most people understand others have different views but when someone is arrogant it just pisses you off especially when their mind is so simple and ignorant.

Christian parents in Pennsylvania sold their daughter to an older man. He raped and impregnated her at least twice before age 18. 12 young girls were found at his home. Apparently white Christian men think having sex with very little kids is okay.

I don't understand Christianity and I don't want to. What I already know is enough.

They sheltered you. They clothed you. They fed you. They rehabbed you. They made you family. And still no reaching out to my dad to give condolences. Some Christian you are. Fuck you.

I bet that at least half of the bigots who signed the Target petition have never met a single trans person (that they know of). I'm so curious about what these idiots think trans people are actually like. The three trans folks that I know look and behave like totally normal, decent human beings. Total opposite of the hateful, judgemental, genital-obsessed Christians.

My ILs are part of the "silent majority". They seem very nice on the outside, but if you do anything they 'don't approve of', you go on their shit list. This includes--having tattoos, being gay, being trans, being Muslim/Buddhist/atheistic/etc., having sex before marriage, etc....basically, they hate everyone. Except the people they go to church with. All of whom are the same way--pretty bigoted. They can't understand how I can be a Christian and be so "okay" with "people's sinning". Um, because that's not my job to play God in people's lives?

Exactly. Same as Indiana and Mississippi. It's just a bunch of bigots thinking that their "good book" needs to rule everyone. Separation of church and state seems to mean nothing anymore. They should just run an ad that says, "Not Christian? Well you should be! Just to prove it, we're gonna shove our outdated beliefs onto you and your loved ones!"
