OP here of ex's adult kids who left summer place a mess - ex's reasoning was that they lived closer to the house and he needed them to "bond" with the place and be there sometimes during the year. To keep an eye on the place. We'd get there and legs would be off the table, the couch broken with two legs off, vanes broken off of the ceiling fans (3 at once one time), and gum in the rugs. Dog fur on the bed, dog treats on the floor attracting mice (we & they don't have dogs). Fridge loaded with food they were supposed to take with them, spoiling and moldy and we'd haul have to haul it to the dump, no garbage collection there. The youngest had a party and flooded the whole first floor. Resulted in $35,000 damage, replacement of HW floor and rugs and stuff, insurance didn't cover all. Ex never held them accountable but kept announcing how wonderful they were to look after it. Told me it wasn't my house and I had no say-so. My say-so - DIVORCE. They're intolerable and so is he.

I also grew up in a dirty house. My mother did not work outside the home. She was so lazy that I often wore dirty clothes to school until I started doing my own laundry. I burned myself a few times trying to cook my own food, and once when I was in elementary school I called my dad at work to tell him I was hungry. He asked where mom was. I told her she was sleeping and would not get up to make me breakfast. I was pretty young, maybe 5 or so. My mother once called the HVAC company because the heat was not working. It turned out that the baseboard heaters were loaded with dog hair. My house is not perfect but it is way cleaner that what I grew up in even though DH and I work full time. I want better for my kids. Prior t meeting DH, I broke off and engagement with another man because he, along with his whole family were disgustingly dirty. His sister's dogs shit all over the house and she just left it there.

"Some of the candidates, they went in and didn't know the air conditioner didn't work and sweated like dogs, and they didn't know the room was too big because they didn't have anybody there. How are they going to beat ISIS?"

My kids' friends never came to our house because it was "too clean". They didn't feel comfortable. Whatever. My house is nowhere near as clean as I'd like it to be. Overly tidy, maybe. But I've got two dogs and a cat, a full time job, a massive yard and garden to care for, and hobbies and fitness stuff I like to do, too. Oh, and cooking and laundry. And shopping. So the actual cleaning my house almost never happens. But I have almost zero clutter and I don't like shit lying around. Pick up after yourself in my house. It's not an unreasonable request. Put your dish in the sink, hang your coat on the hook. Flush. Stuff like that. I'd hate to see the houses these kids grew up in that thought I was "too clean".

It's actually scary what people believe without double checking veracity of statements. This is how we get a rash of idiots refusing to vaccinate their kids, this is how hate crimes occur because people believe stupid rumours about Muslims. An old Sikh guy was beaten up near to me recently because he was mistaken to be Muslim. Not that it should matter either way, but given how big these inbred chav idiots are on war heroes, it's ironic they don't understand what a Sikh is and the massive role Sikhs played in fighting for the Brits in the last two world wars...despite the fact that Britain treated India like shit. Believing these sorts of stupid rumours and urban legends about pig statues being banned or dogs not being allowed to be walked could be seen as pretty funny but when you see the sort of shit this ignorance leads to it really ceases to be funny anymore.

Um...I'm British, living in an area with a massive Muslim population, and I would like to report that our dogs are still free canines and retain their right to walk in any public area they choose. Maybe stop drinking Trump's spiked kool aid. This stupid rumour is posted on Snopes AND Rational Wiki (I know you're probably opposed to anything rational though). It was a hoax website (started in the US BTW) and a few leaflets handed out by anti-Muslim idiots, and based of a load of racist crap on 4Chan. Well done for falling for a hoax from race baiting idiots. BTW, we also had a bunch of asshole trolls handing out fat shaming leaflets on the train a few years back, and I'm happy to report that overweight people haven't been banned either. #fakenews

The veracity of the "don't walk your dogs here" has been called into question. The Snopes site states "Still others are convinced it’s just a prank. Regardless of the intent, there are several reasons to doubt the authenticity of the group and its stated mission: There is no evidence of the existence of an organization called For Public Purity prior to March 2016, when the Facebook page and web site were first created. None of the group’s materials offer contact information beyond a web address and a social media presence. For Public Purity has no discernible association with any real-world Islamic organizations. Though it’s true that there are Islamic writings suggesting that dogs are unclean and their saliva, in particular, should be avoided, it is neither an issue on which all Muslims agree, nor, judging from the dearth of previous calls for banning dogs from public spaces, one that most Muslims find critical to their faith. Many Muslims are, in fact, dog owners."

Um, no....Trumplicker. Find someone in England who says they're not allowed to walk their dogs because of Muslims and....and? You WON'T dumbass. The story is that some extremist was handing out pamphlets suggesting people don't walk your dogs. That doesn't mean there's now a law against it. Maybe go talk to some people from England who actually live there.

I love Tomi Lahren and Trump did a great job on his trip. The Euro allies could pay their fair share of NATO if they'd stop taking in questionable mideast refugees and using their money providing everything for them. 14 million refugees expected to honor Europe with their Muslim presence in the next year. There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet! Coming to your favorite state in the US soon as well! Remember this post when you're not allowed to walk your dog in your neighborhood anymore because dogs are offensive to Muslims. Already happening in England.

Oh, I completely agree that they should adopt an older dog from the shelter. But they won't. If they get another dog, it will be a puppy from a breeder. I get it - puppies are cute. But as much as they love their dogs, and I admit treat them really well, they don't devote as much time to training them, which makes a puppy even a worse decision. The reason why they are talking about a smaller dog is because they already have a hard time with their labradoodle. She's very sweet, but when she pulls on a leash or tries to bolt out the door, they just aren't strong enough to control her.
