That’s awful, but just because these things happened to you doesn’t make it right for you to attack another person’s character and belittle their feelings. I’m in the same boat as you as far as my marriage goes, minus the STD and I’m working on getting out of it. Cheating-check. Physical abuse-check. Sexual assault-check. Manipulation-check, but I realize it’s not right to take my situation out on other people. I can also relate to the OP’s feelings of being in love with someone else, but that’s not why i want to leave my h. Am I cheating? No. Am I going to run to this man and move in with him? No, but I could. The “cheating” OP seems like they’re beating themselves up over emotional cheating, which yeah, is a thing, but it’s not even close to a real affair. So their admission seems to only be about talking to this guy, because if you read back, that’s all that has happened. Maybe she’s sending him nudes, but she hasn’t said that.

Ha. Ok. It wasn’t a fake apology, but I’ll stand by saying that you’re extremely unpleasant. I said I wasn’t surprised and I’m not. I didn’t say you deserved herpes or to be cheated on. He should have just left if he was unhappy. I said he probably FELT victimized, and with the way you lash out, he probably did. Not saying it’s accurate. I apologized only because I spoke hastily before taking into account the whole herpes thing. If you read the only confession any of this could possibly pertain to, it says they haven’t been physical. People on here are all about this emotional cheating crap, so they’re calling it cheating. Keep your fucks to yourself. You know why. —I’m not apologizing for that one.

First of all, fuck you and your fake ass apology. Second, she sure as hell made it sound like she's sleeping with the guy and notice how she hasn't denied it, even once. And third, I didn't bash her. I'm not the one who called her names. I called her behavior narcissistic, selfish, and disgusting. There's more than one person reacting to her. As far as me speculating about her, what the fuck do you call saying that I deserved to be cheated on because I supposedly victimized my ex? My ex was physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive and I'll be taking medicine for the rest of my life because of him. Leaving him was the hardest thing I've ever done. But sure, Jan, I deserve to have herpes because sometimes people marry the wrong person. You're fucked up.

Not helpful, considering that a lot of us live in red states, with no means to move. I understand you're having an emotional response, but there were several BIG victories last night. Things are changing, just slowly.

I'm curious to learn about mindfulness, neuroscience, emotional intelligence and how it plays into one's mental strength. I learned about an upcoming leadership conference on said topics, applied for scholarship and got it! I saved something like $1,000 on registration. Holy cow, I'm so excited!! I think I can use my work professional development funds on it, too!

Child has So many fucking diagnoses...all the acronyms piling up. Emotional, social, physical. I just want to scream and give up. Or wake up and she’s 18 and has to deal with it herself. I need to be clear...the diagnoses are not her fault, she’s way above average intellectually, so it’s not like I’m not blaming her for having Down Syndrome or being blind, for example. It’s her continued resistance to attempting treatment protocols that’s fucking pissing me off.

I don't blame him for avoiding her. Chances are, he could be upfront and mature and it wouldn't help. I've worked with emotionally volatile people before and the only thing you can do is stay away from them. Being an "adult" and talking it out is really only feeding into their desire for drama. They created the situation so that there will be meetings and mediations and a whole frenzy of attention surrounding them. In my opinion, he's doing exactly what I would do-- self-preservation. It isn't his job to keep her emotionally stable. Fuck that noise.

Dh and I still live together but we're in the process of divorcing. He's cut me off financially, but I work. He won't even buy groceries and our 18 year old son still lives here. Neither one of us can afford to move yet, and he wants to keep the house. I'll probably move out next summer when I've saved enough. I've grown tired of his alcoholism, texting with other women and verbal/emotional blackmail and abuse. I haven't felt this free in 28 years. I had a dissomaster done and based on our incomes and stuff, he'd have to pay me 1200 dollars a month spousal support. He laughed and said he'd find a lower paying job. Idiot! God, I can't wait to be rid of him!

I have anxiety. Bad anxiety. Nothing specific scares me about WW, it's just the idea of change or doing something out of my comfort zone. It's really hard for me to do pretty much anything that other "normal" people can do without even blinking. Sometimes I have problems going to the grocery store or getting gas or taking my ds to school in the morning. I don't have issues with going to work though, which is nice. Don't get me wrong, work makes me anxious af, but getting up and going is ok. I'm used to it now. It really stinks having anxiety and depression. I'm too anxious to go to WW and then I get depressed because I'm fat and then I emotionally eat because I'm depressed and anxious. It's a not uncommon cycle for a lot of people with the two disorders.

OP here. Thanks for your hugs, support, and advice. My dad has been a functioning alcoholic all my life, so I am mostly used to his behavior. But I keep forgetting that means he is going to be inconsistent about his priorities, because as soon as something comes between him and the next drink, is has got to go. I have talked to my lawyer about him before, but he isn't incompetent, just a drunk who makes seemingly poor decisions. That said, he has never made such a bad decision that he has ended up destitute or in jail (despite several times either or both should have happened). So for all I know, this will work out for him too. I just have to remember to keep emotional distance.
