Coming back from a relaxing week in Hawaii to find ants all in our cupboards/food. We had few on the kitchen counter before and mgmt said they sprayed our apt though I didn't see anything. Now the ants are along the cupboards baseboards and ceiling has me livid. Weird areas. We're paying a lot for this apt and for this crap. We need out asap, but our lease doesn't end until Oct. FML.

I broke my engagement over a situation similar to this. My fiance at the time was unemployed, I came home from a week of helping my grandmother after her surgery. I came home to empty pizza boxes and other takeout containers EVERYWHERE, the toilet clogged and a huge shit floating in it, a strange smell in the kitchen, cigarette burns in the carpet, and........wait for it........one of his friends sleeping on the living room floor "just crashing for a few days" because his girlfriend locked him out of their apartment!! I did not stay long enough to find out if he left after a few days.

I'm in trouble with my sil because I didn't get her and her dh and baby up this morning when I left to go to brunch with my sisters. It's been a loooong two days and I just wanted to do something for myself. I made them a big breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns, sausages, oj, coffee, toast) (then did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen) made them banana muffins (then cleaned the kitchen), made them a pizza for lunch (then cleaned some more). They never offered to help me do anything. I also had to wait on my dh because he's completely helpless. When I got home from breakfast they were just about to leave and she/sil didn't say thank you, bil did, but she didn't, she just said bye and left. I left the house at 10:15 and they weren't up when I was up, so I didn't get them up. Exact words when they said they were coming "You don't need to entertain or feed us or anything because we know you have a lot going on". Well, I guess I did need to feed and entertain them.

I am having the worst week. Absolute worst. On top of my H being completely disgusted and angry with me, the arm vs doorframe incident, and everything else... I wanted to be nice and leave the dog inside the kitchen while I went grocery shopping since it was raining and a bit cold and his cage is too large for me to put inside on my own. Got home to my curtains ripped out of the wall, a bag of quarters eaten open, dog food bag chewed open and strewn everywhere, and 4 diapers completely obliterated. And I spilled a quart of chocolate milk all over the couch and floor. I need a do over. Or better yet, a fast forward.

We winter in a 55+ community in Florida, and a lady here makes tea pot yard ornaments. They're hideous, and I've told DH that MANY times. Guess what the hell he got me today? Yep! Now he's pissed because I don't like it and had the nerve to suggest I take it back. It's sitting on a side table in the kitchen, and it'll be sitting there till hell freezes over!

"Used" houses are super gross!!! We had to clean so much when we moved in. I don't think the previous owners ever dusted and cleaned their baseboards/trim. The kitchen cupboards were sticky. We deep cleaned everything.

I remember when my ex grabbed my nipple one night in the kitchen. Without even thinking, I hit him in his crotch. It was a reflex to being grabbed. He was so pissed and couldn't understand why I didn't like it. He actually told all his friends, and they couldn't figure it out either. Idiots.

My DH cleaned the kitchen and living room, and got the kids showered and ready to go while I was out on a run this morning. And you know what I said? "Thank you." You know what he says when I do those things? "Thank you." Because it's the nice thing to do, and it makes everyone feel good. Not everything has to be made into a gender equality/feminism/me-me-me/belittle your husband moment. It can be a nice, polite, loving moment.

I said to dh tonight, "I cleaned your kitchen for you." No response. Me: Did you hear me? "Oh yeah. Um thanks." Guess he didn't like me saying that. Good! Now he knows how dumb it sounds!

Another reason why I hate apt mgmt...now they finally write back to say pest control will come. I wrote to them almost a week ago to explain of tiny, black ants along our kitchen counter/floor baseboards (coming out of the carpets...wtf?!). Since we didn't hear back, bf and I took care of the ants on our own (homemade solution) and after a disgusting amount first appeared with the traps; they appear to be gone now. I just replied back since we did not hear a reply, we decided to address the issue on our own. They're only good for cashing our rent check it seems.
