I have this weird thing where I like to look at food (pictures) when I eat food (sometimes) or once in awhile watch a cooking show when I eat. But when I'm done eating, that's it. I used to have a calendar put out by a local pizza joint, and when I got off work I used to eat a snack and look at the calendar, wishing the food from the pizza place was what I was really eating. I'm not overweight or never was, but you'd think I was some sort of food addict or got off on it, wouldn't you?

Counting calories and increasing activity works for most people. If you really watch what you eat (i.e. eat less) and increase the calories you burn (i.e. exercise more) in most cases you will lose weight. yes, there are some cases of medications and certain disease states screwing up your metabolism, but those are generally rare compared to the normal reasons for being overweight. I am just venting because I work at a gym and do training and nutritional counseling. I am just so tired of the excuses and BS. They pay me to help them but then get mad because they are not losing like they hoped and decide "Well this isn't working I am going to find a different program"

I'm gonna talk to my fiancé tonight and tell him I'm thinking of stopping the pill for a while. I've been on it for 14 years and I'm gonna see if it will help me lose weight and more importantly, see if it will help my mood/anxiety which will allow me to stop taking Celexa.

I have four kids. Not once had I the thought "this pregnancy will ruin my body". I always feared I was going to crave bizarre things though, like scorpion heads or doorknobs. I did have to have chocolate cake almost every day and an In n Out DoubleDouble at least once a week though with two of my pregnancies. I actually lost weight too. The body sure is amazing.

I know men will have sex with me even if I have stretch marks. I'm engaged. But um... sorry, getting laid wouldn't be my reason for hating my stretch marks. I hate them because they're very prominent and if I ever did get down to a weight where I'd want to wear a bikini, the scars would be everywhere. Plus I think they are the ugliest thing about me!!

I don't have children. I have never been pregnant. But I have stretch marks on my stomach from being overweight. It's horribly embarassing to know some women that carry humans inside of them don't have them but I do.

I am worried, I'll admit. H has become obsessed with fitness and bulking up. Which is great, when your work schedule allows you to spend 2-3 hours at the gym a day like his does. But I only have 40 minutes a day at the gym. Which means that while he is steadily gaining muscle, I'm pretty much not changing at all. Still saggy here and there, normal weight but pudgy from pregnancy and hormones and living in the South where everything is deep fried twice. (yes, I have lived here my whole life. Lol) I am worried he'll get all fit and won't want me anymore. He has always promised me that if I get too fat hell divorce me (joking, so he says), but..... I'm having to come to terms with the fact that I'm not getting any younger. And I'm not getting any prettier either. So it's either work with what I have, or lose it all. Ugh. Life sucks sometimes.

We are 23 and 25, and have been married for 5 yrs with 1 child. I suppose its been long enough for my h to start comparing me to his friend's girlfriends.... But it still hurts. When he says "of course she's not as pretty as you, your boobs are better(lie, my boobs are saggy as hell from ds), your butt is better "(lie, my butt sags in defiance of my gym visits), your waist.... Well, he stops at waist and says "just remember, she's 18 and 115 pounds!" thanks honey, for that reminder that I'm 23, 5'8" and 145 pounds. Yeah, I do weigh 20 pounds more than I did when we were dating, but I was also anorexic and had never given birth. As much as I "value" your opinion, unless I can get back down there in a healthy way, I've no intention of being that unhealthy again. And no dear, that's not an excuse to be fat. I'm a normal weight for my height.

If I ever lose all my weight, I will wear cute clothes and fix myself up every single day. Not sexy clothes, just all the cute put together outfits that don't look great on plus size women.

Keep a food log if you're trying to lose weight. It really helps when you have to write everything down! I find wearing a pedometer is also very motivating.
