One of my DH's friends bought his fiancée a $20K engagement ring because she insisted on it being a certain carat weight. He had to take a loan out for it and he just didn't tell her about the loan--she married him, but yeah...you can really tell that she wouldn't be with him if he didn't make good money.

I was reading about something called "bulletproof coffee," which is coffee with butter in it. Its benefits are, supposedly, increased energy, mental focus, and *weight loss.* Then it occurred to me--you know how we scoff at all the weird/gross things people in Asia and Africa eat "because they're aphrodisiacs"? In the US you just slap a label like "may result in weight loss" on any disgusting thing (coffee with butter melted in it, perhaps) and people will try it. I need to come up with a scam like that.

My mother's health makes me motivated to take care of my own. You can tell she has never, ever worked out with weights or spent any time doing anything weight bearing in her life. Her arms are the size of my legs. I am built like her and carry extra weight in the same places. I don't want this for me.

My cousin is mentally ill and spends most of her day either on Facebook or internet forums. I had to unfriend her because she would post the craziest rants on Facebook and get into fights with people. I once told her about a weight loss forum I'm on and she joined it and started all kinds of trouble with her nasty trolling. I was so humiliated (she made it known that she knew me) I had to leave. I would NEVER tell her about this site. I ALMOST made the mistake of mentioning Truu but so glad I didn't. She has her good moments but then they always pass and she becomes unstable. I KNOW I never told her about this place, but someone here sounds a lot like her and it freaks me out. I almost feel like it's her and she is purposely trying to ruin it for me.

I wouldn't be famous if you paid me a billion dollars...I think that sort of life looks like hell. Always having to put a front up to the world, not having an opinion that your publicist didn't give to you, massive scrutiny if you put on weight or dare to go out without a full face of makeup or whatever. Having people who "befriend" you to sell stories to papers. People camping out on your lawn. Hells no.

Bio mom offered up info about the name of her unborn child. I didn't ask. I don't gaf about her personal life unless it affects the step kids in a negative way. But if she offered up this tidbit of into to us then yeah, I have every right to judge her on her stupid choice of names for her unborn child. And who's the hypocrite? You are! You admitted to setting up your ex husband with the woman he's with now...so YOU involved yourself in his love life, a place where your ass clearly doesn't belong--so tell me...am I really the one who is "overly involved" or is that person you? Cause I think that person is you. I was offered this tidbit of info when honestly, I don't really even want to talk to her at all or converse with her unless it pertains to the step kids. And yet you inserted yourself into your ex husband's love life and you see nothing wrong with that? Yeah ok, hypocrite. I take your comments with a grain of salt but imo, your words are not worth it's weight in salt.

When I was a cashier, I had a customer buy only a few items. Among them was a bag with a few russet potatoes in it. They are priced by weight. I put in the code for them. He paid and left. About 5 minutes later he came back and was screaming in my face about me not knowing the price of the potatoes. They were apparently on sale, but it wasn't put into the system yet. I told him I would get a supervisor to refund him the difference. He gave me a disgusted look and stormed off. I did the math, it would have been about 30 cents difference. I hate when customers think they know everything, and how certain things will be so much easier if we just did X, or were trained in Y...it's NOT that simple. Never once has a customer gotten in an argument with me, and was right. never. They were always wrong because they don't know how everything works.

I know many women who are dealing with the consequences of men who refused to honor their requests. They asked these guys to stop smoking, it's ruining your health. Don't ride that motorcycle, you've had too many close calls. Don't fly in that homemade plane because I don't think it's safe. Treat your sleep apnea. Please lose weight. The result of these these men's refusal is heart attack, death by accident, & disabling diseases that requre a caregiver so the woman has to give up her life to push the guy around in a wheelchair for the next 15 yrs. Men - why do you refuse to honor your loved one's request when she makes it in your best interest? Ruining both your lives? WHY? Why is it better to prove dominance over your woman than to look out for your health in a reasonable way???

The whole point of the "Missing Microbes" book is not that we should stop taking antibiotics altogether, but rather that the unscrupulous use of them by doctors and farmers over the years have caused our beneficial gut microbes to die out and change in diversity and cause all kinds of problems for our immune systems. Of course you should take an antibiotic if you actually need it, but you have to be really careful with them. They've linked gut microbe makeup to your weight, even. People with certain bacteria in their gut weigh less--I'm telling you, you'll have a new respect for germs after this.

Ugh. No matter how much I work out, cardio, intensive weights, etc., my stomach and waist are STILL flabby!! I think they maybe even flabbier than before!! I do take lyrica, but my neurologist insists that's not the problem. I just feel gross no matter what I do.
